The Enterprise 85WV server is rackoptimized. For example, adapter-slot locations allow for three full-height and three low-profile cards in this 2U system. For highly demanding server workloads, the Server Board SE7501WV2 accommodates up to two Intel® Xeon™ processors with 512KB L2 Advanced Transfer Cache and Hyper-Threading Technology. Multiple integrated components provide dual PCI-X buses, dual Intel® PRO/1000 XT Server Network Connections, and up to 12 GB of Error-Correcting Code (ECC) DDR memory support. All component locations and design are thermally optimized for high-density systems.
Hyper-Threading Technology Hyper-Threading Technology is a groundbreaking innovation from Intel® Corporation that enables multi-threaded software applications to execute threads in parallel. This level of threading technology has never been seen before in a general-purpose microprocessor. Internet, e-Business, and enterprise software applications continue to put higher demands on processors. To improve performance in the past, threading was enabled in the software by splitting instructions into multiple streams so that multiple processors could act upon them.
