GRIOT’S GARAGE BRAKE FLUID TESTER Thank you for choosing this fine product from GRIOT’S GARAGE. USEFUL INSTRUCTIONS TO CALIBRATE THE BRAKE FLUID TESTER: • Lower the chrome plated test bar. (Note: the test bar is not detachable from the main unit and must not be pulled sideways.) • Clean the two test probes on the bottom of the test bar with a soft dry tissue. • Insert the test probes approximately 2 cm or 3/8" into a sample of the new, clean, brake fluid you intend to use. Press the "Push On" button. With the "Push On" button being held down, at the same time, use a small Phillips-head screw driver to gently and slowly turn the "calibration screw" positioned just below the "Push On" button to the left and or right until the first two green lights come on. Then slowly turn the screw very slightly to the left until only the first green light remains on and release the "Push On" button. Clean the test probes again. The BRAKE FLUID TESTER is now calibrated to the new, clean, brake fluid. TESTING THE OLD BRAKE FLUID: • Insert the "Test Probes" approximately 2 cm or 3/8" into the old brake fluid in the master brake cylinder reservoir and press the "Push On" button for 5 seconds to get a reading. • Follow the table below to determine the condition of the old brake fluid. 2 green lights Brake fluid is good. yellow light Brake fluid is contaminated and should be replaced as soon as possible. red light and audible beep Brake fluid is unsafe and must be changed immediately. • Clean the test probes before storing.
