Dr. Rene Nobrega Comes to us from Brazil with over 16 years of dental knowledge and experience. He graduated from Norte do Parana University in 1999 as a Dental Surgeon. He returned to the same University in 2000-2001 to obtain a post graduate degree in Endodontics. Rene later opened up his own private practice in Brazil where he became a respected clinician among his community. Rene moved to Melbourne in 2006 with his wife Patricia. A few years later they moved to Geelong where they had two daughters named Isabella and Gabriella. The family lived in Geelong for six years before they made the decision to head north to the beautiful Sunshine Coast in December 2014 to join Dental Practices in Kawana and Brisbane. Replacement of fillings – One visit porcelain crowns & restorations Oral conditions have an impact on overall health and disease. Bacteria from the mouth can cause infection in other parts of the body when the immune system has been compromised by disease or medical treatments (e.g., infective endocarditis). Systemic conditions and their treatment are also known to impact on oral health (e.g., reduced saliva flow, altered balance of oral microorganisms). Periodontal disease has been associated with a number of systemic conditions. Though the biological interactions between oral conditions such as periodontal disease and other medical conditions are still not fully understood, it is clear that major chronic diseases – namely cancer and heart disease – share common risk factors with oral disease. Oral cancer screening Early detection and prevention of oral cancers is vital, we offer screening for oral cancers to all patients. We offer replacement of amalgam (silver) fillings and large restorations with CEREC. Our state of the art CEREC machine builds porcelain crowns and restorations onsite, while you wait! CEREC Process Using a 3D scanner, we capture all the critical shapes and dimensions of your teeth. This information is fed to the computerised CEREC machine. This controls two small robotic milling bits which form the exact restauration or crown you need from a porcelain block. We can check colour while you are in the chair, for a great result. Elderly Care 1. After the consultation, a camera captures the area to be treated. 2. The restoration is then created as a 3D model on the computer. 3. The restoration created on the computer is subsequently milled from a porcelain block. 4. The finished porcelain restoration is inserted just a little while later. Less time spend in the chair. Less impact on your wallet. No follow up appointment. As we get older, more of us are keeping more of our teeth into later life, making dental health an important part of ageing. Having healthy teeth and gums or correctly fitted dentures is important for overall health and wellbeing. We offer a range of services suitable for elderly patients, including implants and dentures, gum disease prevention and treatment, oral cancer screening and more.
