WARNINGS Read these instructions before use of this product. Failure to follow these warnings and the assembly instructions could result in serious injury or death. • To prevent serious or fatal injury from falls, always keep child within arm’s reach. Never leave child unattended. Read all instructions before use of the changing table. ! • Check all screws and bolts and make sure they are tight before using. From time to time check over your Simplicity Changing Table. You should never use it if parts are missing or broken. • CAUTION: Any mattress used on this crib must be at least 27-1/4 inches (69 cm) by 51-5/8 inches (131 cm) with a thickness not exceeding 6 inches (15 cm). When used as a toddler bed, the minimum mattress thickness shall be 4in. (100mm). If guardrails are used as the mattress containment means, guardrail(s) provided must be used. • Maximum weight of child: 25 lbs (11.3 kg). • Keep instructions for future use. • DO NOT use a water mattress with this crib. • Use only the pad provided by the manufacturer. • Ensure a safe environment for your child by checking regularly, (that every component is properly and securely in place) before placing your child in the crib. Making sure that all bolts and fasteners are tight. Preassemble items as shown in Figure 1. Once assembled lay flat with supports facing down and secure shelf insert to middle support using two 1a screws. Figure 1a. • When child is able to climb out or reaches the height of 35 inches (90 cm), the crib shall no longer be used and can be converted to the transitional bed. (D) (B) (E) • After raising side, make sure latches are secure. • DO NOT leave child in crib with side lowered. Be sure side is in raised and locked position whenever child is in crib. (D) • Mattress supplied with crib must be no thicker than 6 in. (15 cm) and Lower Shelf Assembly 2. Same as Middle Shelf assembly. See above. • Before each usage or assembly, inspect crib for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts or sharp edges. DO NOT use crib if any parts are missing or broken. Ask your dealer or write to manufacturer for replacement parts and instructional literature if needed. DO NOT substitute parts. • When child is able to pull to a standing position, set mattress to lowest position and remove bumper pads, large toys and other objects that could serve as steps for climbing out. DO NOT place cords, straps or similar items that could become wound around the child’s neck in or near the crib. • Never use plastic shipping bags or other plastic film as mattress covers because they can cause suffocation. • If refinishing or touching up, use a non-toxic finish specified for children’s products. Transitional Bed Warnings ! WARNINGS • DO NOT place near window where child may fall out or where cords from blinds or drapes may strangle the child. (I) •The mattress intended for use on the bed shall be a full-size crib mattress having minimum dimensions of 51-5/8 in. (1310mm) long by 27-1/4 in. (690mm) wide and 4 in. (100 mm) thick. 9 • The minimum age for a child using this transitional bed shall not be less than 15 months and the maximum weight shall not be greater than 50 lbs. (22.7kg). • DO NOT use with less than 12 in. (31cm) of space between the transitional bed and solid objects such as a wall or dresser. Child could slide into smaller spaces and suffocate. • Strings can cause strangulation! DO NOT place items with a string around a child’s neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords. DO NOT suspend strings over crib or attach strings to toys. • DO NOT use water mattress. • DO NOT use casters on Transitional Bed. • If guardrails are provided as the mattress containment means, the guardrail(s) provided must be used to avoid the formation of a gap between mattress and bed that could cause an entrapment. If mattress retention clips are provided they must be used to restrict mattress movement. 6 9. Secure the top to the top braces using two 29 mm bolts (I). Figure 9. Repeat for other side. 10. Attach the back (G) using the twelve small screws (K). Make sure wall strap hole is near the top. Figure 10. Attach the last Support Bar (B) onto the bottom hole of the side using one 45mm bolt (H). Figure 3. Mattress Support Assembly. Parts Needed: Refer to pg. 3, “Crib Parts” Place one of the Mattress Support Posts on the floor with the 10 large (I) holes facing inward, and the 4 small holes facing out. Make sure the “Bottom” sticker is facing the floor. (H) (B) (H) 5. Place the other End panel (A) onto the support bars and secure with six 45mm bolts (H). Figure 5. (E) 1 (A) Parts List Assembled Mattress Support Attaching Mattress Support Attach the completed Mattress Support Assembly to the Crib using four 17mm Bolts with Blue Locking paint on the threads (E). (E) 17mm (4x) Blue 2.Using five 45 mm (H) bolts, attach the Bolt End Support Bars (B) to an end. NOTE: The Support bar with the hole in the middle (C) goes in the top hole position. Figure 2. See Warning Statements. (H) 45mm 8 13 2. Slide the Drawer bottom (E) into the drawer assembly as shown in Figure 2&2a. The finished side of the panel faces into the drawer. 3. Assemble the back panel (B) of the drawer to the drawer assembly per Figure 3&3a. Check all screws for tightness. Attaching Drop Side 2 If drop side does not slide smoothly, apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to the tracks for easier use. 2a 4. Using Drawer Knob Screws (G), install 2 knobs (D) on each Drawer - Figure 4. (C) Line up top of drop side rail (C) with the top of both upper tracks. Raise rail about one inch. Then line up lower track. Slide drop side rail Top down until it locks in place. Track (E) When assembly is complete, return instructions to the envelope attached to the Mattress Support. Close envelope to retain instructions for future use. (E) COMPLETED DRAWER ASSEMBLY IS SHOWN BELOW Repeat steps 1-4 until all the drawers are assembled. (C) Bottom Track 3a 3 (B) Lowering and Raising Drop Side (B) Lift To lower: The drop side, (1) lift at the center of the top rail and then (2) push in with your leg at the center of the bottom rail. (G) 12 Click! 9 Clothing Organizer Warnings Converting to a Transitional Bed ! Remove Drop side. Lift drop side. Push in on the tabs at the top of both lower tracks to slide the drop side up off the tracks as shown. WARNINGS • Periodically check all bolts and screws to maintain the stability of your chest. Tab Position Mattress Support. Mattress support must be in the lowest position. If not, use the allen wrench to remove bolts. Lower support into position and re-attach to headboard. • Do not overload drawers, particularly the top drawers. • Do not allow children to climb on this product. Drawer Assembly Remove Casters. Attach Drawer sides (A) to the drawer front (C) as shown in Figures 1&1a. Be sure the bottom grooves all face into the drawer and the grooves line up as shown in Figure 1a. Locate the threaded inserts underneath the mattress support rail. Bolt one bracket (L) to each of these inserts using the two 17mm bolts (M). Brackets are slotted so that you can adjust position of bracket to avoid interference with mattress support bolts as shown.
