qualified installation and service agency. All installation and service of these units must be performed by a qualified installation and service agency. Modine manuals may contain excerpts from component supplier literature adapted for Modine products. Any accompanying component supplier literature is for general information.
Application A combustion air intake collar is available as an accessory for low intensity infrared units, models TLP, RLP, CLP, MV & RV. These collars are required when utilizing outside combustion air with a low intensity infrared burner. The combustion air intake collar enables the combustion air pipe to connect with the burner of the unit, supplying outside air to the burner box.
Collar
Combustion Air Intake Collar Installation 1. a. TLP, RLP & CLP: Center flanged end of combustion air collar around air intake grill on the outside of the burner box. Refer to Figure 1.1. 1. b. MV & RV Only: Center flanged end of combustion air intake collar around air restrictor plate on the outside of the burner box. Refer to Figure 1.2. 2. Seal the joint between the combustion air intake collar and the burner box with a suitable sealant. Dow Corning 700 industrial grade is an example of a suitable sealant, but is not required. 3. The combustion air intake collar has screw holes 180° from one another. Use #8 self-tapping screws provided in accessory kit to fasten collar to burner box.

Ensure that installation of unit is in accordance with applicable Installation and Service Manual 9-506, 9-501, 9-507, AIR9-506 or AIR9-501 latest revisions.
