Welcome to our 90th Annual Show
Our main aim as a Show Society is to showcase the Caboolture District at our show.
A big THANK YOU must go to the many volunteers who work relentlessly to achieve this aim.
I would like to thank all our sponsors, donors, competitors, stewards, exhibitors and families for their ongoing support.
I wish everyone involved a very successful and enjoyable show and once again, thank-you for your continued support. Mr. Max Herschell President

Members free each day of the Show on presentation of Membership. Friday, Saturday & Sunday: Adults $15.00; Concessions $8.00 (includes all concession card holders & seniors card holders); High School Students (on presentation of ID) $8.00; Family Pass $30.00 (2 adults and 2 high school children); Primary School Children FREE. SCHEDULES and ENTRY FORMS are available from the Secretary. Please complete entry forms and forward with appropriate fee to the Chief Steward of the relevant section. This assists greatly in the smooth running of the Show. For a free charity site $15.00 per pass is required.

INSIDE (Roofed Accommodation) $35.00 per metre frontage plus electricity charge as stated below. Minimum frontage of 2 metres. If more are desired for staff, they are available at $15.00 each with application payment for space. Power and extra tickets MUST be paid prior to MAY 1ST. Where payment is not made by this date, space ordered is automatically allocated to other hirers. Space ordered and paid for but not used will be automatically allocated to others who require space but were refused due to limitation. There will be no refunds of payments if space is cancelled or unused. Where display space is limited, preference will be given to prize-winning exhibits. No exhibits may be removed without the consent of the Stewards before 3.30 pm Sunday unless otherwise stated. Pavilion exhibits must remain in place until after 3.30 pm Sunday.

SPACE HIRERS are to ensure that ALL electrical leads and electrical wiring complies with AS - NZS 3002 - 2008 and 3760 - 2010. All power leads and electrical appliances must display a current tag indicating that each lead has been tested and approved by an authorized person in accordance with the requirements of the Workplace, Health and Safety Act e.g:-Has been tested after the 1/1/17. SECURITY on the grounds will be available from 6.00 pm on Thursday 8th June to 8.00 am Monday 12th June. GATES will be open 7.00am on each day for exhibitors. Gates will open to the public at 8.00am. Ring events commence at 8.00am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Night program Friday and Saturday starting at 6pm. PAVILIONS will be open from 8.30am to 8.30pm on Friday and Saturday and 8.30am to 3.30pm on Sunday.
RAFFLES - Local organizations wishing to conduct raffles are requested to make application in writing to the Secretary prior to MAY 1st 2017.
ON AIR ADVERTISING - Advertising on the air costs $5.00 per day or $12.00 for the 3 days of the show. Please forward advertising and payment to the Secretary as soon as possible. Advertising also taken on the days of the Show. PLEASE NOTIFY STEWARDS OF YOUR INTENTIONS PRIOR TO 1ST May 2017.

CHIEF PAVILION STEWARD: Ms Michelle Goullet 0404 689 065 GROUND STEWARD: Mr Alf Hershel Phone 0439 996 506 This Show is conducted subject to the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies, the constitution and rules of the Society and any regulation, which appears within the Schedule for individual sections of this Show. Should there be any conflict between the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Society, the constitution and rules of this society and the regulations appearing in any schedule, the constitution, rules and regulations appearing in the schedule of this Society shall prevail. ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES 1. The attention of intending exhibitors is drawn to the fact that entries are accepted subject to the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and to the Constitution and Rules of this Association in addition to any Special Regulations which appear within this Schedule. ENTRIES 2.
Please refer to each section. All entry fees are GST inclusive
NO LATE ENTRIES 3. Completed entry forms, where requested, together with fees should be in the hands of the Chief Steward or Secretary within one week of Show. 4. The Society reserves the right of refusing or cancelling any entry without giving reasons for doing so. PRIZE MONEY 5. All prizes are paid on the authority of the award entered in the Judge’s Book. When such prizes are paid, to whomsoever they are paid, the Society’s, responsibilities cease and no claim can afterwards be entered. All prizewinners are requested to obtain prizes from the Secretary’s Office on Show days. All prize money is GST inclusive and exhibitors are requested to complete the necessary declaration on their entry forms. 6. Where the prizes are stated as having been donated by a particular person or firm, they take the place of the Society’s prizes, and are not in addition unless expressly stated. In the event of a tie, prize money will be divided. In awarding trophies, the committee may provide Prize Money and Trophy to the value of the stated trophy.
SOCIETY’S RESPONSIBILITIES 21. All competitors compete at their own risk. 22. The Society will not be responsible for any accident that may occur to any exhibit at the Show, and it shall be a condition of entry that each competitor shall hold the Association harmless and indemnify it against any legal proceedings arising from the accident. 23. The Society will not under any consideration, hold itself responsible for any loss, damage or miss delivery of livestock or other exhibits at the Society’s Show. 24. Any prize not claimed during the Show will be forfeited to the Society. 25. Exhibitors and persons admitted to the grounds shall be subject to the Rules, Regulations and Orders of the Stewards and are required to pay normal admission prices unless exempted by the Association. 26. The foregoing Rules and Regulations, Rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies, and the Notes as set forth in the Schedule are the conditions of competition. Any matter arising not specially provided for in the foregoing shall be determined by the Committee, whose decisions shall be final. 27. Stall holders must ensure that ALL power leads and electrical appliances display a current tag indicating that each lead has been tested and approved by an authorized person in accordance with the requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act. ie. has been tested after the 1/1/17 28. EXHIBITORS ARE ADVISED THAT NO ELECTRIC FENCES ARE ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS DURING THE PERIOD OF THE SHOW AND THAT THE SHOW SOCIETIES WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICERS ARE AUTHORISED TO CUT AND REMOVE SAME WITHOUT NOTICE. 29. MEDIA. By entering the Caboolture Showgrounds, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and its/their release, publication, exhibition or reproduction to be used for news, web casts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising, inclusion on web sites, or any other purpose by Caboolture Show Society and its affiliates and representatives. 30. Caboolture Show Society, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved are released from liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, or publication of interviews, photographs, computer images, video and/or sound recordings. NOTE: ALL ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT AND LEADS ARE TO COMPLY FULLY WITH AS 3002 - 1985.
7. In classes where there is no competition. ie. Only one Exhibitor, the Society reserves the right to award half prize money, if they should so wish. POINT’S (where stipulated) 8. Points shall be allotted as follows: First prize 3 points; Second prize 2 points; Third prize 1 point Where only one entry, only 1 point for first. Where only two entries, 2 points for first, 1 point for second. First prize only awarded if less than 3 entries, unless specified by the Judge. This applies to all sections. EXHIBITS 9. Where display space is limited, preference will be given to prize-winning exhibits. 10. No exhibits may be removed without the consent of the Stewards, before 3.30pm Sunday unless otherwise stated. 11. Pavilion exhibits must remain in place until after 3.30 pm Sunday. Gates will be open to the public at 8.00am. Friday. 12. Exhibits entered in the wrong class by the Exhibitor may be transferred to the proper class by the Stewards. JUDGING 13. The Judge need not award any prize to an exhibit that in his/her opinion does not comply with the conditions. 14. In the judging of Livestock, all questions as to the eligibility of any exhibit with reference to age or breed shall be decided by the Judge. If necessary, judging the class may be deferred until the Exhibitor has produced proof. 15. The Judge may award Second Prize if the exhibit is not worthy of a first, and shall not award any prize if the Exhibit is not considered to be sufficient merit. STEWARDS 16. Stewards shall attend to the Reception, Classification, Numbering and placing of all exhibits and to all matters in connection therewith, and are responsible for the return of all exhibits to owners. 17. The Judge is to be furnished with a Schedule of Prizes, but no information as to the name or place of the owner of the exhibits. 18. Stewards shall prepare Prize Cards and see that these and any Ribbons are properly fixed to the Prize Exhibits. Stewards are to request the Secretary for their requirements of cards, ribbons and stationery within one month of Show Days. PROTESTS 19. The Steward of each section shall settle any dispute arising therein but the exhibitor has the privilege of lodging a written protest against any decision thus given, which will be dealt with by the Committee, whose ruling is final. 20. All Protests must be lodged with the Secretary in writing with a deposit of $50 not later than half an hour after the award has been made. The deposit, in any protest considered frivolous, will be forfeited to the Society. PAGE 4

SECTION 1 – HORSE SECTION HORSE RULES ONLY ENTRIES ON DAY OF JUDGING ONLY
a) These conditions are to be read in conjunction with the Show Society’s General Instructions. b) This Show is conducted subject to the rules of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies and constitution and rules of this schedule. c) All riders, drivers and competitors compete at their own risk and no responsibility is accepted by the Caboolture and District Pastoral, Agricultural and Industrial Association Ltd or its servants in any respect for any account or mishap to competitors, animals, property or onlookers which may occur. d) The age of a horse shall be calculated from the first day of August. Every horse foaled before the first of August in any year shall be deemed to be one year old on that date. e) The Mounted Steward will control participants as he sees fit and may demand an entrant’s card on entry to the ring. His orders must be obeyed without question. f) No ring shall be required to wait for a competitor who may be competing in another ring. g) If in the opinion of the judge any horse or pony is entered in the wrong class, the judge shall have the power to classify it in the correct class. h) A maiden is a horse that has not won a first prize in a similar event at an affiliated Show. i) A Novice horse is one, which has never won an Open Championship at any Agricultural Show. j)
Stallions are not permitted in hack classes.

Pony Hacks must not exceed 14 hands.
l)
Pony Hacks must be ridden by a rider under 17 years of age.
m) A Galloway Hack shall be over 14 hands and not exceeding 15 hands. n) All horses must have a current height certificate acceptable to Caboolture P.A. & I Association.
the Chief Steward. cc) Any protest must be lodged in writing to the Ring Master or Ring Steward within 30 minutes of the completion of the event accompanied by a fee of $50. This amount will be forfeited if such protest is considered frivolous by the disputes committee of three persons appointed by the Show Committee. The decision of the disputes committee shall be final and without appeal except that any exhibitor shall have the right of appealing against disqualification imposed as provided for in the constitution of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies. dd) Juniors cannot compete in both graded and Junior events on the same horse) No electric fences are allowed on the grounds during the period of the show and the Societies’ Workplace Health and Safety Officers are authorized to cut and remove same without notice, ff) All dogs must be restrained and kept within the camping area. If not restrained they will be reported to the CSC Compliance Officers for impounding. gg) All livestock to enter via Gate 3 Beerburrum Road Caboolture.

o) A Judge or Steward may direct any person or horse from the competition for bad conduct of one or both.

p) It is recommended that signed performance cards be completed by the Show Steward rather than the Judge during the continuance of the Show.
(Combinations may compete in any two events for which they are qualified)
q) Judges must be suitably attired in either riding clothes or neat street attire when judging. r) An Exhibit is ineligible to compete if the horse has been owned or leased by the judge, a member of his/her family, his employer or business partner within the last three months. s) An Exhibit is ineligible to compete if the Competitor/Exhibitor has given tuition to the Judge or trained a horse owned or leased by the Judge, within the last three months. t) A Judge shall not visit the horse stables or the owners, nor inspect or discuss any horse entered in the show prior to or during the judging of the relevant section. u) No Competitor/Exhibitor shall deface or alter registration papers or performance cards. v) An Exhibitor shall ensure that horse and Competitor are entered and shown only in the correct class. w) No Competitor or Exhibitor or member of their family shall approach a Judge with regard to a decision unless they first obtain permission from the Ring Master or Ring Steward. x) In Breed classes all horses must be registered with their particular Breed Society. y) In Breed classes registration papers must be available as proof of registration if required. z) Certain breeds and colours of horses of great interest to Horse Associations and public alike judged at Caboolture’s Annual Show on merit and excellence, the predominant factor being award of the Caboolture Show Society’s sash, NOT financial gain. The criterion is QUALITY. The Show Society will foster and further the activities and interests of all Horse Associations or Clubs, which cooperate by providing judges/stewards. Horse Associations should contact the Secretary promptly each year advising of their need in a Schedule and the extent of their material help offered. aa) A Show Society may carry out random tests for drugs in horses. bb) All classes are to assemble in the Marshalling Yard prior to entry into the Main Ring for the event. Classification, etc, is conducted here under the direction of www.cabooltureshow.com.au

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. Entry Fees of $2.50 per entry is payable. 2. Prizes: Society sash and prize money of $10 first prize, $7 second prize and $5 third prize per class. Prize money is to be collected after the Grand Parade on the day of the Show. 3. Age of the cattle is to be calculated from date of birth to 1/6/17 4. The Shields, Cups and Sashes for this section are donated by the Caboolture PA & I. Association Ltd. The Exhibitors gaining most points in Section 8A, 8B, 8C, 8D and 8E respectively shall be eligible for a Shield each valued at $60. The Shields shall remain the property of the Caboolture Show Society and the holders are required to return the Shield to the Show Secretary one month prior to the next Annual Show. A point’s scale of 4 points for the first place and 2 points for second place is used to decide the winners. Fruit and vegetables exhibited in all sections are to be of good marketable quality and free of disease. PLEASE NOTE: General Rules 7 and 15 will be enforced.

GENERAL RULES (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY) (a) All exhibits must be in the hands of the Stewards at Showgrounds by 9.00am Thursday 8th June 2017 in the WD Williamson pavilion. (b) Exhibits may be received between 3.30pm and 6.30pm Wednesday June 7th 2017 at the Showgrounds and between 7.30am and 9.00am Thursday 8th June 2017. (c) Judging will commence at 9.30 am on Thursday June 8th 2017. (d) Where trophies have been presented, a trophy will take the place of first prize money. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY 1. The competition is classed as a Level 2 competition. This competition shall be run in accordance with the AFLACA Competitor and Judging Manual, Issue No. 8 2. (r) Animals (any fish, invertebrate, amphibian or reptile) other than those nominated for judging may be included to improve the quality of the display. (s) Where permits are required for display of a species then copies of the permits must be provided to the stewards before installation of entry. When rare/new species are entered for judging, it is up to the competitor to provide supporting documentation. Otherwise the entry will be judged at the Chief Stewards discretion. Australian Bred Entries: All entrants in these classes must be Australian residents. Bettas entered into these classes must be fish the exhibitor has personally spawned, raised and entered. No purchased or acquired fish will be eligible to be entered into this category. Individual Entries: The entrant must have spawned, raised and entered the fish personally.
Team Entries: Team entries are the product of two people working closely together in different fishrooms to produce a line of bettas. Teams usually involve one person breeding the fish and then giving the young, unsexed juveniles to another person who will rear them in their fishrooms to showable size and training. Teams are not people who purchase or are gifted a fish from another breeder. Family Entries: All family members share the same fishroom, which is located at one address. All duties are shared and each member is equally involved in the breeding and raising of the fish. PRINTS: 1. All prints must be images taken by the exhibitor. 2. Prints, including mount board, must be no larger than 51cm x 41cm or smaller than 25cm x 20cm. UTE MUSTER RULES AND REGULATIONS Right of Entry 1.
Competitors are permitted to enter the competition at any number of Shows.
2.
Only registered vehicles are eligible to enter the competition.
3.
If a competitor wins a class at one Show, they may still compete at other Shows.
5.
The Sub-Chamber Winners can only represent NOT MORE THAN ONE CLASS AND NOT MORE THAN ONE SUB-CHAMBER with the one vehicle at State Level.
4. The Class Winner can only represent ONE CLASS AND ONE SHOW at Sub-Chamber Level and that Show is the one at which they first won, irrespective of the number of Show entered.
6. In the event that the Winner of a Class is ineligible to compete under rules 4&5 above, the Runner Up or other eligible vehicle will be permitted to compete at SubChamber and State Final Tiles in place of the Winner.Note. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to notify the Show Society or Sub-Chamber Coordinator of their judging ineligibility to compete. Conduct of Competitors (Drivers/Owners) 7.

Competitors may undergo a breathalyser test. Refusal will mean immediate disqualification. 16. Any Owner/Driver behaving in a manner considered to be inappropriate will be disqualified. 17. Any person not abiding by any of the Rules will automatically be disqualified. Nominations for Entry 18. Any REGISTERED vehicle that is classified as a UTE (Drop tray back, well back, drop side or converted to a UTE) may be nominated by the owner and /or driver. 19. If converted to a UTE a Certificate of Inspection will be required. 20. The driver of the vehicle must have a current driver’s licence. Nomination Fees 21. Nomination Fees recommended for the event are as follows:
1)
$10.00 nomination fee per vehicle, for entry to one(1) Class – at Show Level;
2)
Other Classes may be entered for an additional $5.00 per Class – at Show Level;
3)
No nomination fee is required for Sub-Chamber or State Final; and
4)
The official QCAS Nomination Form is to be completed and the Waiver signed to gain entry to the Event.
Judging 22. It is recommended to have two(2) judges but no more than three(3) judges 23. It is recommended to select Judges with automotive experience or knowledge. 24. Vehicles will be judged according to the individual classes’ criteria. 25. Owners or Drivers f vehicles must remain with their vehicle while judging of that particular class is in progress. 26. The WINNER of the overall championship at the STATE FINAL is nor eligible to be judged for the SAME TITLE for a period of one (1) year if they have qualified again for the State Finals. 27. A standard Judging Sheet is provided for scoring purposes. 28. The Judge’s decision is final. Classes 29. The following eight(8) classes have been selected to give the best overall cross-section of entries,.
1) Best Street Ute – All makes and models. Tailored for street driving, with or without custom modifications. Immaculate presentation, precise detail dedicated to entire vehicle. Interior, exterior, under bonnet, engine bay and tray presentation. History of Ute, bought or custom.
2) Best B & S Ute – All makes and models. The typical B & S Ball Ute showing evidence of Ball attendance, with Badges, Stickers, Aerials, Mud flaps, Roll Bar, Bulbar and Spotlights. Overall interior and exterior presentation. Aerial flags are encouraged for display, but judging will be based on the vehicle itself. 3) Best Chicks Ute – All makes and models MUST be registered solely in females’ name. (Registration papers are to be supplied for viewing). Best interior and exterior with personal touches and accessories and overall Ute presentation. History of Ute, bought or custom. Additional decorations, flowers and stuffed toys are welcome for display, but judging will be based on the vehicle itself. 4) Best 4x4 Ute – All makes and models. Best representation of a 4xx4 Ute, in constant use or part time 4 wheel drive. Additional four wheel drive accessories added to the vehicle and including overall interior and exterior presentation.
5) Best Work Ute – All makes and models. Displaying Toolboxes and Trade accessories, and (where applicable) MUST exhibit clear Business or Trade signage on the vehicle. Overall interior and exterior presentation. 6) Best Feral Ute – All makes and models. The real character Ute. Seen a lot of life, Bulbar, stickers, additional accessories, antennas, reasonable neglected, unkempt and complete with dents. Aerial flags are permitted for display purposes only but will not be considered for judging. Ute MUST be roadworthy.
7) Best Classic Ute – Any restored Ute over 30 years of age which is roadworthy and registered with or without modifications to the engine and body but still being able to identify the “true” make and model. 8) Town & Country Ute – All makes and models of road registered Ute with Immaculate presentation & with a Rollbar with overhead Spotlights/Light bar, and/ or Bulbar.
