A 10GbE GrandMaster Clock with TimeKeeper® and Solarflare® FSMLabs and Solarflare have collaborated to bring to market the industry-leading appliance for generating precise time over high-performance networks. The TimeKeeper GrandMaster is designed for high frequency trading and other financial applications. Flexible Server Configuration The web interface simplifies configuration. For example: the clock can be easily setup to pull in a PTP source as a backup and a NTP source as a cross check. The clock can then be set up to generate PTP and/or NTP – on multiple different Ethernet ports. Transparent Time Failover TimeKeeper Multi-Protocol GrandMaster Clock Clocks can be setup to back each other so that if one loses GPS, a remote clock can keep it synchronized over the network. The TimeKeeper/Solarflare solution delivers unique set of features at significantly lower cap-ex: 1. Native 10GbE from the Solarflare® SFN6322F server adapter enhances synchronizing accuracy and eliminates queuing delays and hidden time errors caused by using slower connections Enterprise Server 2. Native 10GbE combines both timing and data on a Reliability single low-latency, high-throughput network 3. Higher reliability through TimeKeeper’s fault discovery, Clocks chassis comes with self-healing time networks, and failover redundant power supplies 4. Scalable operation, including support for remote and standard network servers outside the local network and high performance monitoring tools. implementation of both PTP and NTP 5. Advanced time network administration via web 10G Ethernet interface. Solarflare’s lower latency 6. Reduced IT staff configuration time improves clock accuracy 7. Supports popular GPS adapters, including and is compatible with Symmetricom and Spectracom today’s data networks 8. Monitoring of time synchronization clients, peers and sources 9. Auto-detection of GPS spoof attacks and bad time sources 10. Solarflare’s Stratum 3 clock source plus TimeKeeper’s holdover technology ensures high precision during timing network loss www.fsmlabs.com TimeKeeper/Solarflare 10G GrandMaster Clocks Save Time and Money Total cost of ownership in a time distribution network can be dominated by IT staff time, so TimeKeeper is designed for simple configuration and administration. TimeKeeper can be configured to alert network monitoring programs of problems (via SNMP), alert IT staff by sending them emails and even automatically fail over as required. The web based administration lets IT staff monitor performance using a browser from any connected machine as long as they have security credentials. For customers who want to perform their own analysis, raw data is provided in log files. Regulation and Fault Recovery The TimeKeeper/Solarflare Grandmaster can be configured to synchronize to multiple network time sources in addition to (or in place of) the GPS time provided by the adapter. This enables multiple Grandmasters to be synchronized to each other and to cross-check one another. Since it is possible for colocated time feeds to fail or to even jump around, TimeKeeper can alert system operators or and/or be configured to automatically switch to a second source if a problem is detected to avoid interruption of time service. TimeKeeper’s holdover option can make use of even a low quality time feed, like a feed from NIST over the public internet, to keep the frequency steady on the local timer if GPS is interrupted (or appears unreliable). TimeKeeper logs all sources to maintain an audit trail. The logs can show, for example, whether the sources are meeting the FINRA/OATS requirement of being no more than one second from NIST standard time. www.fsmlabs.com 512-263-5530 [email protected] TimeKeeper/Solarflare 10G GrandMaster Clocks How to purchase TimeKeeper GrandMaster Clocks (TK-GM-10G), TimeKeeper Server Software, and TimeKeeper Client Software are all available from FSMLabs and FSMLabs resellers.
