Samil Nevruz, iSelect’s group network and infrastructure manager, says, “With over 7 million visits to our website each year, it is extremely important for us to get privacy right. A SOLUTION THAT MEETS ALL THE SECURITY NEEDS The company’s thinking was pretty clear, “We wanted to work with a single vendor that could meet our entire security requirements,” says Nevruz. He began researching managed security services and approached leading vendors, including SecureWorks. He recalls, “I was already familiar with SecureWorks through its relationship with Dell, which has been a long-standing IT solution provider for iSelect. My research showed that only SecureWorks offered a managed solution to meet all of our needs.” iSelect chose SecureWorks Managed Security Services, including SecureWorks Web Application Firewall Management and SecureWorks Monitored Server Protection. With application firewall protection, customers gain 24/7 protection against application threats to satisfy all payment card industry (PCI) regulations. The solution also helps eliminate false positives and forms part of a comprehensive web application security strategy. Likewise, with monitored server protection, customers gain an in-depth security defense for their physical and virtual servers, including intrusion detection and prevention. In the case of iSelect, the web application firewall protection oversees some 300 servers supporting the website operation and the monitored server solution safeguards around 50 servers, which contain customerrelated information.
COLLABORATION ENABLES SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATIONS Deployment of the SecureWorks solution was handled by staff from the SecureWorks Counter Threat Operations Center (CTOC) and iSelect. Nevruz met regularly with CTOC personnel, who also provided knowledge transfer and training to iSelect staff as part of the implementation project. “Deployment is crucial, particularly fine-tuning the service for each application,” says Nevruz. “We were dealing with the same SecureWorks team throughout the project, which helped with the overall efficiency of the program.”

DEDICATES MORE TIME TO STRATEGIC PROJECTS KNOWING DATA PROTECTION IS IN SAFE HANDS Nevruz and his team have also been able to push ahead with strategic projects such as replacing the company’s network switching because of time saved through the SecureWorks solutions. “We had more resources to tackle such a large project because we no longer had to spend time on security.
