CONGRATULATION Congratulations on your purchasing Altimeter. The VTI altitude sensor from Finland is used in the altimeter. Moreover, inside the sensor there is implanted advanced technology Baro-compensation. With this advanced technology, the performance of the altimeter on the altitude reading will be more reliable and the measurement will be more accurate. In addition, using the American patented PNI compass sensor in the altimeter, the performance of the compass is more accurate.

FUNCTIONS Altimeter Barometer Thermometer Calendar/Clock Chronometer/Countdown Timer
NOTE It is not recommended as the professional measurement device such as skydiving, hang gliding, gliding, gyrocopter volitation and flying small aircraft or precision measurement in industry. It can just be used for outdoor sporting, and you have to take a magnetism compass when exploration. It is 30M waterproof but not suited for using in water. The altimeter is measured by air pressure, not by water pressure. When the watch is in water, there will be some water on the surface of the altitude sensor, and it will effect the measurement of altitude and air pressure, so the watch is not suited for using in watch (such as swimming).

This part applies to all models. The altimeter is equipped with an intelligent barometer that helps determine altitude by the built-in sensor with the advanced bar-compensation technology, the sensor can also distinguish the differences between pressure caused by changes in physical altitudes and pressure caused by weather conditions. This smart distinction eliminates discrepancies and makes the altimeter reading more accurate than the traditional devices.

SECTION FIVE PULSE MEASUREMENT This part applies to JS-716B, JS-716C, JS-704B, JS-704C
CHEST BELT The chest belt is used to monitor your heart rate, and transmit the data to watch. Before measuring, you should wear it correctly. Refer to Fig20.
Fig20 1.Wet the conductive pads on the underside of the transmitter with water, sweat or a conductive gel to ensure a good contact. 2.Wear the belt across the chest. Adjust the belt until the transmitter sits snugly below the pectoral muscles for an accurate heart rate signal. NOTE: 1.The position of the transmitter affects its performance. Move the transmitter along the
22
strap for the best transmission. Avoid areas with dense chest hair. 2. In dry and cold climates, it will take a while to function steadily. This is normal as the conductive pads need a film of sweat to improve contact with the skin. Heart rate / clock EFFECTIVE RANGE: The transmitter and receiver will start transmitting and receiving signal once batteries are in place. Both units should be worn or mounted within an effective distance of 80 cm (31 inches). If the signal becomes unsteady. A. Shorten the distance between the transmitter and receiver. B. Re-adjust the position of the transmitter. C. Check the batteries. Replace them when necessary.
DISPLAY MODES There are two display modes in HEART RATE: Heart rate and chronometer Heart rate and clock Refer to Fig 21. Press SELECT/+ to change the display modes.

HOW TO MEASURE HEART RATE Select either display mode in HEART RATE. Then indicator will flash with the heart rate captured and your heart rate will appear on the LCD screen. When no signals are received in five minutes, the receiver will disable the function and return to the CLOCK mode automatically.
NOTE If you wear heart pacemaker or any other medical equipments, do not measure heart rate. When you are measuring your heart rate, keep the watch away from signal generated sources e.g. micro-wave oven, television, computer, and mobile phone. The irregular signal will make the measuring incorrectly. Make sure the belt wore closely and the transmitter sits snugly when do exercise. If it doesn't sit snugly, it will produce disturb-signal and make the measurement data incorrectly.
