If equipment fails because of such defects and Gefen is notified within two (2) years from the date of shipment, Gefen will, at its option, repair or replace the equipment, provided that the equipment has not been subjected to mechanical, electrical, or other abuse or modifications. Equipment that fails under conditions other than those covered will be repaired at the current price of parts and labor in effect at the time of repair. Such repairs are warranted for ninety (90) days from the day of reshipment to the Buyer. See Setting the Output Resolution for a list of output resolutions. 4 A,D,W,S, Enter Control buttons. Use the left, right, up, and down button to control the menu system and other features. Press the Enter button to confirm setting changes. The up and down buttons are also used to control the volume of the audio output. Use only 3V CR2032-type batteries. Make sure that the positive (+) side of the battery is facing up. 3 Alternate battery slot Allows for the installation of secondary (backup) battery. page | 9 Getting Started IR Remote Control Unit Installing the Battery The IR remote control unit ships with two batteries. Only one battery is required for operation. The second battery is a spare. Use only 3V CR2032-type batteries. 1. Remove the back cover the IR Remote Control unit. 2. Insert the included battery into the primary battery slot. The positive (+) side of the battery should be facing up. 3. Replace the back cover. WARNING: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions. NOTE: If the Activity Indicator, on the IR remote control unit, flashes quickly while holding down any one of the buttons, then this indicates a low battery. Replace the battery as soon as possible. Setting the IR Channel In order for the included IR remote control to communicate with the A/V Conference Room Processor, the IR remote control must be set to the same channel as the matrix. See the #rmtiradd command for instructions on setting the IR channel of the matrix. Connect each video source to the A/V Conference Room Processor. Connect the outputs from each video source (or separate audio source) to the A/V Conference Room Processor. Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI Out port, on the back panel of the A/V Conference Room Processor, to an HDTV display. 4. Connect the included 24V DC power supply to the 24V DC power receptacle, then connect the AC power cord from the power supply to an available electrical outlet. 5. The Front Panel Display is also used in conjunction with navigating the built-in menu system. After powering on the A/V Conference Room Processor, the standby screen will be displayed: Current video input HDMI +10db Audio volume Input video resolution 1080i60 1080p60 Output resolution NOTE: If no video source is connected to the A/V Conference Room Processor or if a loss of video signal occurs, then “Loss” will be displayed on the status screen. Indicates that a loss of the input video signal has occurred HDMI1 +10db LOSS 1080p60 page | 16 Operating the A/V Conference Room Processor Front Panel Controls Selecting the Input Source The A/V Conference Room Processor provides discrete switching between each input, using the buttons on the front panel. See Selecting the Video Input for more information. page | 17 Operating the A/V Conference Room Processor Front Panel Controls Adjusting the Volume Press the ▲ button to increase the output volume or press the ▼ to decrease the output volume. The current output volume setting (in decibels) will be displayed in the status screen. The volume can be reduced to a minimum of -60 dB and to a maximum of +10 dB. Each time these buttons are pressed, the volume is increased or decreased by 1 dB. Increase volume HDMI +10db 1080i60 1080p60 Decrease volume Current volume TIP: To increase or decrease the audio gain at a faster rate, press and hold down either of these buttons until the desired volume is achieved. Muting the Audio Use the Mute button on the front panel to silence the audio output. To disable the mute function, press the Mute button again. When the A/V Conference Room Processor is muted, the volume level will be displayed as “negative infinity”, as shown below: HDMI - DB ∞ 1080i60 1080P60 Press to mute the audio page | 18 Operating the A/V Conference Room Processor Front Panel Controls Displaying the Firmware Version To display the current firmware version of the A/V Conference Room Processor, press either the ◄ or ► buttons on the front panel. P/N:EXT-AVCONFS gefen FW:V3.05 From the standby screen, press the ◄ or ► button to display the firmware version Press any of the arrow buttons (▲,▼,◄, ►) to return to the status screen. Accessing the Menu System To access the built-in menu system, press the Menu button on the front panel. See Using the Menu System for more information. Menu button MENU VIDEO NOTE: When using the HDMI, Component, or DVI inputs, the first menu system is titled “Video”. When using the VGA input, the first menu system is titled “PC”. page | 19 Operating the A/V Conference Room Processor Using the Menu System Setting the Picture Mode This feature is only available when using the HDMI input. 1. Press the Menu button on the front panel or on the IR remote control. 2. The Video menu will be displayed. If the VGA input is selected, the “Video” menu will be displayed as “PC”. MENU VIDEO 3. Press the Select button. If using the IR remote control, press the Enter button. The current value will be displayed. V:picture mode ( standard ) 4. Press the ◄ or ► buttons to change the Picture Mode. The following options are available: Standard, Movie, Vivid, and User. V:picture mode ( vivid ) 5. Press the Exit button to return to the Video menu. 6. Press the Exit button a second time to return to the status screen. page | 20 Operating the A/V Conference Room Processor Using the Menu System Setting the Contrast In order to set the picture contrast, the Picture Mode must be set to User. See Setting the Picture Mode for more information. 1. Press the Menu button on the front panel or on the IR remote control. 2. The Video menu will be displayed. If the VGA input is selected, the “Video” menu will be displayed as “PC”. MENU Video 3. Press the Select button. If using the IR remote control, press the Enter button. 4. Mode Description INT The internal (local) EDID is used instead of the EDID from the display device. EDID features newer than HDMI 1.3 are removed from the EDID data structure when the display is read. This provides a general EDID which is compatible with more displays. EXT The external (downstream) EDID is used. In this mode, both DDC and HPD are passed through and the Switcher uses the full video capabilities of the display. The HPD status will also be detected by the source device. MIX The display capabilities from the external EDID are combined with the audio capabilities of the internal EDID of the A/V Conference Room Processor. 1. Press the Menu button. 2.
