2.5.3 Antenna for Modem Users need to connect the magnetic mount antenna to the Modem antenna interface on Pilot RCU 2.0. It is not recommended to connect a short rod antenna to the Modem antenna interface. During outdoor tests, it is recommended to place the magnetic mount antenna on the top of the vehicle or put if far from test module antennas, to reduce the interference between the magnetic mount antenna and test modules antennas.
2.5.4 Antennas for Test Modules Attention: Do not use antennas dedicated for 2/3G test modules for 4G test modules. Please use standard LTE antennas for 4G test modules. 1. Standard antennas for 2/3G test modules:

Preparation
3 Preparation Users need to correctly connect antennas for Modem, GPS, and test module antennas respectively before starting Pilot RCU 2.0.
3.1.1 Power On Users may choose either of the methods to start Pilot RCU 2.0: 1. Connect the Pilot RCU 2.0 device to external power supply, and then the device automatically starts. 2. Press and hold the power key for one second, and the device starts. This method is applicable to both situations where external power supply is connected or not connected. Note: If the device cannot start when pressing the power key, users may connect the device to external power supply, as the failure may be caused by low in power supply from the built-in battery.
3.1.2 Power Off Recommended power off: Press the power key for about one to three seconds, and the device internal program will control the device to power off. Force power off: Press and hold the power key until the device is power off (all indicators are not lit). If force power off is conducted, the ongoing RCU file generation may be abnormally terminated, or even logical errors on storage partition may occur.
3.1.3 Hardware Verification After all preparation, users may power on the device and verify if the device may start and run normally. It takes about 30 to 60 seconds for the device to start and run the system. If the device runs normally, the Power (Main) indicator is green and the SYS indicator blinks in green.
3.1.4 Precautions 1.
The power adapter works properly only within the voltage range 100-240 v AC. Any operations outside this range may cause damage to the adapter or Pilot RCU 2.0.
2.
The cigarette Lighter Cord (12V) can be used only for indoor and vehicle environment, with 10 Amps built-in fuse.
3.
If DC current is used for the power of Pilot RCU 2.0, the voltage must be within 9-30 v DC.

Preparation
4.
For power saving and security purposes, it is recommended to disconnect the power adapter from the outlet when it is not in use for a period of time.
5.
The antennas for GPS, Modem, and test modules should be correctly connected to ensure proper operation.
6.
If dual antennas (CH and Aux) are provided for test modules, users need to connect both antennas before test.
7.
It is recommended to connect the device to the cigarette lighter interface after the vehicle starts as the instantaneous current or voltage may change a lot at that time.
8.
It is not recommended to use the cigarette lighter to power on the Pilot RCU 2.0 for a long time when the vehicle stops the engine (but the vehicle audio system can be enabled), as the vehicle may run out of the battery and cannot start again.
9.
Shut down the device before inserting or ejecting SIM cards.

Installation and Uninstallation
5 Installation and Uninstallation It is recommended that users install the hardware after device commissioning to avoid unnecessary uninstallation in case that the device cannot run normally. When the device is installed in a car, it is recommended to install the device either in the trunk or at the rear of the backseats. Before installation, users need to correctly connect antennas to each module and place the magnetic mount antenna vertically to ensure good signal.
5.1
Install Pilot RCU 2.0 in the Trunk
As shown in the figure below, users may install the Pilot RCU 2.0 in the trunk of a car: Figure 5-1 Install Pilot RCU 2.0 in the trunk
In this case, users need to place the magnetic mount antennas on top of the trunk to ensure good signal. Therefore, it is recommended to use magnetic mount antennas instead of rod antennas for test modules.
5.2
Install Pilot RCU 2.0 at the Rear of Backseats
As shown in the figure below, users may install the Pilot RCU 2.0 at the rear of backseats:
