About the safety notes
All safety notes and other important information have a grey background. The machine is equipped with safety features. However, always carefully read the safety instructions and only use the machine in the manner described in this manual to avoid accidents which could cause damage or injury. Keep the manual safe so that it is available to read in the future. If the machine is passed on, please pass on the manual too.

4.ABS Anti-Blocking System Your laminator is equipped with an Anti-Blocking System. If the pouch was not inserted straight or it becomes jammed in the machine, push the ABS switch 7 toward the left. You can then take the laminating pouch and its contents out of the machine and reinsert the document in a new pouch into the fi lm feed slot 5 .
! 5. General instructions about the laminator Please read the manual before using the machine. Please note: when using the machine, you may fi nd it gives off a slight odor. Please ensure there is sufficient ventilation in the room, e.g. by opening a window.
A laminator is not a toy. Keep it locked away from children!

6. Getting ready to laminate 1. Site the machine so that there is enough space to insert the laminating pouches (in other words, not right in front of a wall or other objects). 2. Insert the plug into an earthed power socket (220-240 V = domestic power supply). 3. Switch the machine on using the ON/OFF-switch 1 . The red power light 3 will come on. 4. Select either hot or cold lamination by flipping the HOT/COLD switch 2 to the desired position. Note: Your laminator supports lamination of 80 mic and 125 mic film without mode-switching. 5. The green standby indicator 4 light appears as soon as the machine has reached the right temperature. The preheating time can vary depending on the ambient temperature and air humidity.
7. General tips on laminating After laminating 1. Set the ON/OFF switch 1 to OFF. 2. Pull the mains plug from its socket. 3. Leave the machine to cool. Cleaning the rollers 1. Switch on the machine. 2. Fold a sheet of A4 paper and insert this, folded edge fi rst, into the pouch feed tray 5 . Keep repeating this process until no more glue deposits cling to the paper. Cleaning the machine 6 So schneiden Sie mit dem Hebelschneider (Abb. 2) 1. Always remove the mains plug from its socket before cleaning the machine. 2. Let the machine cool down. 3. Always clean the machine with a soft cloth. Use neutral cleansing agents, never abrasives.

8. How to laminate 1. Please note! Only take one pouch per lamination, as pouches stick tightly together. Place the document that you wish to laminate between the two sides of the laminating pouch. Ensure that it lies fl ush with the enclosed edge. 2. Insert the laminating pouch closed-edge-first into the slot 5 on the back of the machine. The rollers will automatically pull the pouch in and transport it to the output slot 6 on the front of the machine. Don’t use force to pull out the samples. In the event of jamming, see the ABS section. 3. Let the pouch cool for a bit, and then it’s ready. 4. If the laminating pouch has not adhered properly to the paper, repeat the process.
9. Cold laminating Please note that only pouches intended specifi cally for cold lamination may be used. Originals with a treated surface, such as fax thermopaper or Polaroid pictures, and papers with surfaces that may be altered through heat should only be laminated using cold lamination. In these cases, set the temperature switch 2 to position COLD. Slide the foils, with the item to be laminated between them, into the feed slot 5 . Please note: After hot lamination, wait 20-30 minutes after fl ipping the temperature switch 6 to COLD to allow the unit to cool down before you start cold laminating.
10. Storage The best way to store the machine when not in use is in the original packaging. Keep the machine in a dry location away from sources of heat.
11. Disposal The product packaging is recyclable. Dispose of this with due regard for the environment. When no longer serviceable, the machine should not be thrown away with the household rubbish, but disposed of in line with legal requirements. This is in the interests of recycling and protecting the environment. Ask your local authority waste department or your local disposal company about suitable disposal options. Before disposal ensure that the machine is rendered unusable. Disconnect the machine from the power supply and remove the mains cable.

12. Safety advice and maintenance
The device should only be connected to a properly installed 220-240 V power point and has a protective conductor. This must be close to the equipment and easily accessible, so that it can be detached from the mains if need be. Any adapter or extension cable must also have a protective conductor and be easily accessible so that it can be detached from the mains if necessary. Never insert any other objects other than laminating pouches that are intended for this device, particularly metallic objects, into the pouch insertion slots. Keep away from children. Protect the device from moisture. The location of use must also be dry. Damp documents should not be laminated. In the case of emergency, always pull the plug out from the mains. The device is only designed to be used in the private sector. The device generates heat when laminating. Strong sunshine or indoor heating can exacerbate this situation and can cause the device to become faulty. In such cases, you should also pull the plug out from the mains immediately. The device has ventilation slots. These should not be covered up with other objects such as magazines, cloths, etc. After use, switch the device off , and then always pull the plug out from the mains. The device automatically switches off if it overheats. Only laminate at room temperatures (approx. 10–25°C). The device should never be connected if the cable is damaged. Plastic bags can present a danger. To avoid any danger of suff ocation, keep the bag away from babies and children. Please clean this machine only with a damp cloth.
