Use a data cable with RFI reducing ferrites on each end. 3. Use a power supply with an RFI reducing ferrite approximately 5 inches from the DC plug. 4. Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. FOR HOME OR OFFICE USE 1. Warnings and Notices Please read the following before beginning installation. T he main circuit board of the HDD carrier is susceptible to static electricity. Proper grounding is strongly recommended to prevent electrical damage to the enclosure or other connected devices, including the computer host. Take the provided USB split cable out of the box and insert the USB B plug into the front of the carrier and the two USB A plugs into two free USB ports on the computer to bus-power the unit. b. Insert the DE50 drive carrier (sold separately) into the docking station by carefully sliding the carrier rearward until the carrier mates with the docking station. Insert the USB B plug into the front of the carrier and the black USB A plug into a free USB port on the computer. b. Plug the AC Adapter into the AC adapter port on the front of the carrier and then plug the other end into a power outlet. c. Insert the DE50 drive carrier (sold separately) into the docking station by carefully sliding the carrier rearward until the carrier mates with the docking station. The docking station will automatically power the drive. Your DE50 USB-to-IDE Docking Station is now ready to use! If the hard drive is already formatted, the docking station can be used right away. If the hard drive is brand new, or its format is not compatible with your computer, the drive will need to be formatted before being used. Refer to your operating system’s online documentation for formatting instructions. 3. Removing the Carrier from the Docking Station  acOS X: Unmount the volume from the computer before removing the carrier from the M docking station by dragging the volume’s icon to the trash bin, or by selecting the volume then pressing Command-E.
