A8 SETUP INSTRUCTIONS Thank you for purchasing the A8 GPS car dash camera. Following are step by step setup instructions to enable you to easily set up the camera before use. • Format the SD card before use (instructions next page). There are 4 buttons on the camera, each button has more than one function depending on whether the camera is recording or if you are setting up the camera for use: Left hand button is to press "record" if you a want to record manually or if you are in the menu, it is the scroll "UP" button hence the inverted V. • Second button from the left is to play back a video or if you are in the menu it is the "SET" button. • Right hand button is to snap a photo while the camera is recording or if you are in the menu it is the scroll "DOWN" button. • Second button from the right is the "on/off" button or the "Menu" button. Turn The Camera On To Setup The Menu 1. Press the "on" button to turn on the camera (you hold this button down to turn the camera off). 2. Press this button again to see the menu 3. Scroll down to highlight the "Setup Mode" (use the right hand button) 4. Press the SET button (second from left) 5. Scroll down to "Date Set" 6. Press the SET button (second from left) 7. Scroll down to "Time zone" 8. Press the SET button 9. Scroll down to UTC+10 for East Coast or UTC+8 for WA (check daylight savings times) 10. Press the SET button 11. Press the menu button (this takes you back to "Setup Mode"" 12. Scroll down to "Record Set" 13. Press the SET button 14. "ON" will be highlighted, press the SET button again 15. You will be back in "Setup Mode" 16. Scroll down to "G Sensor" then press the SET button • 17. 18. 19. 20. 21. 22. 23. 24. Highlight "Medium" and press the SET button again You will be back in "Setup Mode" Scroll down to the next page and set "Light Frequency" to 50Hz Press the menu button and you will be back in "Mode Setup" menu Scroll up to "Video Mode" and press SET button Scroll down to "Video Time" and press SET button Scroll down to "5 Min" and press SET button Press the menu button twice and you will be back to the original screen. When you plug the lead & GPS Module into the camera, then plug the power lead into the cigarette lighter socket, turn on the ignition, wait a minute and the GPS will automatically pick up and set the date and time. The cameras will now be recording and will continue to record 5 minute seamless videos. The only time it may stop is if the G Sensor picks up heavy braking or an accident. If it does stop recording (Red light in top left corner of screen indicates recording is in progress, Green light next to Red light indicates GPS is working) you may need to re format the SD card. Format SD Card You should also format the SD card before use by plugging the camera into your computer, right click on the relevant removable Drive and click "Format". This can also be done in the camera menu but if there are any incidents or videos you wish to keep, be sure to copy the relevant files onto your computer first including the txt file under the video. There are two ways to format the SD card, we have already mentioned one, here is another: 1. Press menu button and scroll down to "Setup Mode" then press SET button 2. Scroll down to "Format" then press SET button 3. Scroll up to "Execute" and press SET button, SD card is now formatted (clean) 4.
