TIP - This product enables you to use a printer with a USB interface even from Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 95 OSR2 or lower. However, a printer driver for each OS has to be available. This product has the following features: - Supports the Canon Bubble Jet Printer Series, printers equipped with CAPT and multifunction printer (MFP). In addition to a traditional print server function, the scanner function, memory card reader function, and fax function are available over a network if you use this product with a Canon MFP. - Supports the status monitor that came with Canon printer driver. The CX Print port enables you to use the status monitor that is bundled with your Canon printer driver. The status monitor visually shows printing job status and ink level information. - Some printers may not support the status monitor. For support information, please visit the Canon Web page. Note - Easy configuration using the bundled utility and the embedded Web server. This product can be configured and connected to a Canon MFP easily by the bundled utility and the embedded Web server. - Security features(IP Filter) This product allows to accept/deny the communication from a pre-registered IP address scope. (1)10BASE LINK LED(Green) Lights when a proper 10BASE-T network connection is established. (2)100BASE-TX LINK LED(Green) Lights when a proper 100BASE-TX network connection is established. (3)STATUS LED(Orange) Flashes during the communication. [BOTTOM] (4) Ethernet Address The Ethernet Address of this product. The last 6 digits are the product's serial number. NOTE -If the Ethernet Address is 00:80:92:00:17:B0, it is marked as 0080920017B0. The products number (serial number) is 0017B0. (10) USB Port (9) Network Port (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) [SIDE] (5) Push Switch By pushing the push switch, this product can be reset to the factory default settings and print a diagnostic report. Refer to About the push switch in this chapter. [BACK] (6) STATUS LED (Orange) Blinks during the communication. (7) LINK LED (Green) Lights when a proper network connection is established. (8) Power Connector Connects to the AC adapter. (9) Network Port (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) Connects to the network cable. (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Auto-detection) (In 100BASE-TX environment, use category 5 or above) (10)USB Port Connects to a printer or a MFP. 3 About This Product Users Manual 3 About the push switch Factory default 1. Remove the AC plug from the electric outlet. 2. Push and hold the push switch while re-inserting the AC plug into the electric outlet. Continue holding. 3. The STATUS LED(Orange) will light when the factory default configuration settings have been restored. Release the push switch. TIP - If this product has been used in another network, reset it to the factory default settings before you start the configuration. - Do not turn off this product while resetting to factory default. - When you turn on this product after factory default configuration, do not push switch. Diagnostic/configuration report While this product is in use, push the push switch for more than 5 seconds. The Diagnostic/Configuration report will be printed. This is available only with printers with fonts. TIP - Diagnostic/Configuration report is not available with Canon Bubble Jet Printer.
