The ACEit Intelligent Technology Control System is driven by state-of-the-art electronics that can control any commercial pool equipment room. Our fully programmable interface can coordinate and monitor an entire filtering, chemical injection, heating and backwash commercial pool system or just the physical components you choose. Management of the ACEit Intelligent Technology Control System is exceptionally easy too! Programmed via a full color touch screen on the face of the unit, no need for specialized training or complicated controls. Chemical Feed System: ACEit will maintain complete priority control over the entire filtration system. When ACEit receives a signal to regenerate from the filters while the chemicals are injecting, it holds the signal until the active process is complete. ACEit knows Backwashing: ACEit constantly monitors the filtration system. When it’s time to backwash, ACEit checks for in-process system activities or conflicts before beginning the backwash sequence. ACEit will adjust the system flow rate to meet the filter manufacturer’s suggested backwash flow rate. Complete Flow Control: ACEit will maintain consistent flow control via the flow meter regardless of clogging filters. If the pump is not meeting minimum flow, ACEit can provide notification of the deficiency. ACEit can be set to reduce flow rate through the filtration system to maximize efficiency during non-patron hours. Reduced flow rate can substantially lower energy consumption while maintaining crystal clear water. ACEit will monitor downstream components required to be turned off during the backwash sequence such as UV systems and pool heaters. ACEit will remove residual heat from the heater’s fire box before beginning the backwash sequence, eliminating nuisance alarms and tripping of the manual reset high limit. ACEit maintains proper system flow rate through the pool heaters during reduced flow hours. v o i c e : 6 0 2 - 5 9 5 - 6 2 6 3 | f a x : 6 0 2 - 3 8 8 - 8 5 2 1 | e m a i l STANDARD FEATURES • COMPLETE PRIORITY CONTROL FOR YOUR POOL FILTER AND CHEMICAL FEEDER • BACKWASH FLOW CONTROL • AUTOMATIC NIGHT TIME AND OFF PEAK HOUR REDUCED FLOW OPERATION • EASY TO USE MENU DRIVEN 5.7" 256 COLOR TOUCH SCREEN INTERFACE • MODBUS COMMUNICATION • OFF-SITE MONITORING AND CONTROL WITH EMAIL ALARM NOTIFICATION THRU CUSTOMER SUPPLIED ETHERNET CONNECTION • PRESSURE TRANSDUCER • MULTI LEVEL SECURITY • LIGHTNING ARRESTER • MAIN PUMP VFD WITH PID CONTROL • DRY CONTACT FOR E-STOP • PADDLE WHEEL OR ELECTROMAGNETIC FLOW METER • U.L. 508 LABEL • 3 CONTACTOR BY-PASS • THROUGH-THE-DOOR MAIN DISCONNECT • LINE REACTOR • TEMP SENSOR AVAILABLE OPTIONS COMPLETE PRIORITY CONTROL FOR ALL YOUR POOL EQUIPMENT IS AVAILABLE ie: SOLAR CONTROL, FILTERS, CHEMICALS, OZONE, POOL HEATERS, U.V., LEVEL CONTROL, WATER FEATURE CONTROL, WIND SPEED, AND SO ON. ALL MOTORS Intelligent Technology CONNECTED TO A VFD MUST BE INVERTER RATED. : d m c c u l l e y @ a c e - s a l e s . c o m | w w w . a c e - s a l e s . c o m HOW ACEit Intelligent Technology Works 30hp $33,376 Motor Operating Cost Without VFD With 90% of motor speed / 12 hours per day Annual Cost: $29,065 Affinity law can be described as follows: With variable speeds, the capacity varies directly and the head varies as the square of the speed and the brake horse power varies as the cube of the speed. For the example shown on the left, a commercial pool industry standard 30HP motor, 460V 3P, running at 1750RPM is used with an average utility rate of .16 per kwhr. Intelligent Technology cost savings of 13% The following example shows the power reduction after applying the affinity laws. Save over $4,311 annually The approximate full load amps for this motor is 36. To calculate the electricity cost per hour, the amps are converted to kw using the formula: kw=(E x I x PF x 1.732) / 1000. E=volts, I=amps, PF=motor power factor. Based on the formula, our example yields the following results: 80% of motor speed / 12 hours per day cost savings of 25% Save over $8,191 annually Annual Cost: $25,185 70% of motor speed / 12 hours per day cost savings of 33% Annual Cost: $22,338 0 Save over $11,038 annually 5,000 10,000 15,000 20,000 25,000 30,000 35,000 Operational electricity cost based on 24-hour operation and a sample rate of .16¢ per kwhr for energy cost. Savings are to be used as a guide, your energy savings may vary. 460V x 36A = 16,560 x .83 power factor (.83) = 13,745 x constant 1.732 = 23,806 / 1000 = 23.81kw. Using the estimated average utility rate of .16 kwhr., 23.81 x .16 = $3.81 per hour to operate this motor at full load amps. Using the affinity law described above, and assuming a desire to lower operational cost and increase energy savings, a program is instituted to reduce pool flow rate by up to 30% during non-patron hours. To calculate the benefit, convert the percentage of speed reduction to a reciprocal as a decimal value. In our example the flow rate reduction is 30%. The reciprocal value is 70%, converted to a decimal format of .70. The power reduction factor is found by utilizing the formula: .70 x .70 = .49 x .70 = .343. Multiplying the result by the motor’s full load amps reveals total amp reduction, or by using cost per hour to show cost reduction. The example shown illustrates that reducing the flow rate during non-patron hours by 30% lowers the averaged electricity cost from $3.81 per kwhr to only $1.29 per kwhr. AN OVERALL SAVINGS OF $2.52 PER KWHR FOR 12-HOURS PER DAY OR $11,038 OF SAVINGS PER YEAR!
