Active Optical Engine The Samtec QSFP+ Optical Engine is a miniature four lane PCB module consisting of four transmit / receive channels designed to be embedded into a QSFP+ connector at each end of a cable assembly. The engine contains all of the E/O and O/E conversions needed to support an aggregate bandwidth of 40 or 56 Gbps and cable lengths up to 100 meters. It is a complete “turnkey” design ready for easy termination to a fiber cable and enclosed into a connector housing to create an optical cable assembly that will significantly outperform copper assemblies in bandwidth, distance, and cable density. One piece “direct attach” assembly Samtec’s QSFP+ Optical Engine is ideal for cable assemblies supporting High Performance Computing, Data Center, Storage Area Network, Telecom Switched Network, and Optical Backplane applications. 4 lanes full duplex transmitting up to 10 Gbps per lane For more information, contact Samtec’s Optical Group at [email protected].
