OUR ROOTS For over 35 years, Genelec has been setting the standard for accurate sound reproduction in recording studios and broadcast facilities around the world. Genelec pioneered the active loudspeaker concept in which integrated power amplifiers and active crossover circuitry are used to create sound that is accurate, powerful and low in distortion. Today in every Genelec loudspeaker, each driver has its own matched power amplifier and precision electronic crossover. Such innovations, based on the professional experience, make Genelec a natural choice for critical listeners in the home environment. Our proprietary Directivity Control Waveguide™ DCW™ provides broad and flat coverage with precise imaging. Practical Room Response Controls optimize the loudspeaker’s tonal characteristics for different types of room acoustics. Genelec loudspeakers are designed and manufactured in Finland.
Professional sound at home Genelec two-way active loudspeakers and active subwoofers are designed for ambitious home use with HiFi systems, home theatres, computers and audio servers. Their refined design is a result of Genelec’s cooperation with renowned industrial designer, Harri Koskinen. Thanks to the integrated design where the loudspeaker and the amplifiers are designed as one, Genelec loudspeakers and subwoofers offer superior sound quality, higher maximum sound pressure levels and increased reliability over conventional passive loudspeakers of the same size. All Genelec products include acoustic calibration functions, which allow the user to adjust each loudspeaker and subwoofer for optimum performance in any listening space. The integrated amplifiers make external power amplifiers redundant, which enables direct connection between the loudspeakers and preamplifiers, computer sounds cards, MP3 players or other line level signal sources. The Intelligent Signal Sensing ISS feature significantly reduces power consumption in standby mode. The professional heritage of Genelec also manifests itself in the enclosure materials, namely die-cast aluminium and steel. Genelec loudspeakers are durable, solid and environmentally friendly.

The Genelec active two-way loudspeakers combine an organic, rounded form with powerful and precise sound reproduction. The gently curving design is not chosen for good looks alone. Sharp edges or corners on a loudspeaker enclosure cause acoustic reflections that interfere with the direct sound. This harmful interference - diffraction - is dramatically reduced by the smooth, curved design of the Genelec loudspeakers. You can hear this in the excellent resolution and solid sound imaging of the products. Blending seamlessly to the enclosure shape, the proprietary DCW™, formed around the high frequency driver is designed to match the frequency response and directivity characteristics of the two drivers. This results in a clean frequency response on and off axis and controlled directivity maximizing the direct sound aimed to the listening area.

Genelec active subwoofers are designed to complement the Genelec active loudspeakers in applications where an extended and powerful reproduction of very low frequencies is required.

Both F One and F Two share the same award-winning design created by designer Harri Koskinen and Genelec’s R&D team. The all-metal construction of the subwoofers hides the driver and connectors out of sight, leaving the clean form of the enclosure undisturbed. Both models feature connections and bass management for up to 5.1 channels and a comprehensive suite of adjustments for perfect matching to the main loudspeakers and room acoustics.

Architectural products The series comprises two in-wall loudspeakers, the AIW25 and AIW26, one in-ceiling loudspeaker, AIC25, one inwall subwoofer 5041A and a powerful wall-mounted loudspeaker, the AOW312B. All of these are active loudspeakers with separate amplifier units that can be installed in the equipment rack. As with all Genelec active loudspeakers, the amplifiers are carefully calibrated with their respective loudspeaker units and include practical room response controls for fine-tuning the sound in different environments. Automatic overload protection circuits prevent damage to the loudspeaker drivers and the amplifier, providing excellent reliability and allowing the amazing performance of the Architectural Series loudspeakers to be used to full effect.
