Active Receiver Hubs
Leviton Active Receiver Hubs are active devices used to receive video signals over category-rated unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cable up to 2000 ft (915 m) with a passive transmitter, or up to 4000 ft (1219 m) with the use of a Leviton active transmitter. Hubs offer built-in differential surge suppression to protect equipment against damaging voltage spikes through the cabling. Active Receiver Hubs include electronics to automatically adjust the signal strength as required to provide a quality video picture regardless of the distance, without manual adjustments. Active Receiver Hubs provide installation flexibility with three types of connections for UTP cable: detachable insulation displacement connector (IDC) blocks, detachable screw terminal blocks, and RJ45 connections. These hubs are available in 4-channel surface mount housings and 8 and 16 channel rackmount housings.
SPECIFICATION Active Receiver Hubs shall be capable of receiving baseband monochrome or color video signals over Category 3 or better unshielded twisted-pair (UTP) cable. They shall be capable of receiving video from a passive transmitter up to a distance of 2000 feet (609 m), and shall be capable of receiving video up to 4000 feet (1219 m) when used with an approved active transmitter. Active Receiver Hubs shall have built-in differential transient protection. The receiver housing shall be equipped with an integrated male BNC for 75-ohm camera connection, screw terminal blocks for power connections, and insulation displacement connector (IDC), screw terminal, and RJ45 termination options for UTP connections. The hubs shall deliver signals operating in the same cable bundle as telephone, data, low voltage or other video signals, without interference.
