INSTRUCTIONS NOTES: This remote cooler adapter kit requires use of the OEM cooler bolts to retain the adapter housings. Do not discard these bolts during disassembly. Consult the cooler manufacturer’s application guide to ensure you select the right-sized transmission oil cooler for your unit.
DISASSEMBLY 1. Drain the antifreeze from the vehicle. 2. Disconnect the two engine coolant hoses that are attached to the OEM cooler. 3. Remove the two OEM hex socket head bolts from the top of the OEM cooler. 4. Remove the OEM o-ring from each bolt and discard only the o-rings. Save the two bolts for reuse. 5. Remove and discard the OEM cooler. 6. Remove and discard the OEM o-rings from the counterbores in the transmission case.

Adapter Kit for Remote Transmission Cooler

INSTALLATION 1. Connect the engine coolant hoses together using the hose mender and two hose clamps. 2. Thoroughly clean the two counterbores on the transmission case where the lower o-rings seat. 3. Install the two .103” (2.6mm) thick o-rings provided, one each, into the case counterbores. 4. Install the two .139” (3.5mm) thick o-rings provided, one each, onto the top groove of the OEM hex socket bolts (see Figure 1). 5. Install the hose barbs, one each, into the adapter fittings. Thread sealant is recommended. 6. Place the adapter can over the counterbore in the transmission case. The thinner o-ring should be under the can at this point (see Figure 2). 7. Insert one OEM bolt through the top of each adapter can and start the threads into the case. 8. Orient the adapter can hose barb in the desired direction and tighten the OEM bolt to 26 ft. lbs. (35 N·m). 9. Mount the remote cooler in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
