QuickStart Guide multivoice™ Intercoms MV-AUDIBLE™, MV-NEXUS™ and MV-PROTECTOR™ 1 Turn me on 2 Connect headset 3 Connect one cable headset to a MULTIVOICE Intercom as shown below. Choose 1 Intercom and . . . Light will flash, then turn solid. Align the Female Connector on the Cable Slot… Push & Hold the Power Button. Activate mic Once a cable headset is connected to a MULTIVOICE Intercom, the default setting is for the microphone to be turned on. You will know your mic is “live” because the Blue LED lights on the front of your Intercom are lit. Then push the cable Connector Down and… After Light turns solid, release Power Button. NOTE #1: After you release the Power Button, the LED Light will begin to flash again. This is normal. …with the Pin inside the Male Connector on the Intercom. …Twist 1/4—turn to Lock into place. NOTE #2: To TURN OFF a MULTIVOICE Intercom, press and hold the Power Button until all Lights on the Intercom turn off. Your Intercom is now turned off. NOTE: You must have eight (8) or fewer Intercoms synchronized in a MULTIVOICE network for each unit to have a “live” microphone. If you are using 8 or fewer Intercoms, you can activate the mic by A) flipping the switch on the Switch-to-Talk™ box between your Headset and Intercom, or B) by pushing the microphone button on the front of the Intercom, or C) by lowering the boom microphone on your Headset. NOTE #3 FOR FOOTBALL USE: If you plan to use 1 or more MV-AUDIBLE Intercoms in a Press Box during a game or practice, you must ensure that A) You turn on these Intercoms first, and B) that you only use them in the Press Box during said game/practice. Failure to do so may cause temporary loss of communication. 4 Add more 5 sound Repeat Steps 1—3 above to add more MULTIVOICE Intercoms to your network system. 6 Changing channels Example: Channel 2 Channel Button Press to Increase Volume Press to Decrease Volume NOTE: Each additional MULTIVOICE Intercom will be connected to the other units in your system as soon as you complete the steps in Section #1 above. NOTE: If one of the Channel LED Lights are lit on your MULTIVOICE Intercom, you will hear everyone speaking on that particular Channel. If you want to BE HEARDTM by others on that same Channel, the 2 Blue LED Lights on the front of your Intercom must also be lit. To enter Talk Mode, please push the mic button, flip the switch on the Switch-to-Talk box, or lower your boom mic so it is positioned in front of your mouth; the Blue LEDs will light-up and you can now BE HEARD. To deactivate your mic and return to Listen Mode, push the mic button or lift your boom mic; the Blue LED Lights will now turn off. NOTE: MULTIVOICE Intercoms come standard with 4-6 Channels, (4 channels for MV-AUDIBLE and 6 channels for MV-NEXUS and MV-PROTECTOR) with each Channel LED Light signifying the respective Channel, starting (from Left to Right) with Channel #1 and ending with Channel #4 for MV-AUDIBLE and Channel #6 for MV-NEXUS and MV-PROTECTOR. To change from one Channel to the next, simply push the Channel Button once. (See section #7 on the back page for more info.) QuickStart Guide multivoice™ Intercoms MV-AUDIBLE™, MV-NEXUS™ and MV-PROTECTOR™ 7 Everyday use MULTIVOICE Intercoms operate without a Base Station, so setup takes mere seconds. MULTIVOICE Intercoms also support an unlimited number of users, with up to 8 Talk Slots on a single group system. And militarygrade MULTIVOICE Intercoms deliver up to 18 hours of Talk Time in any weather at up to 4,000 feet. MULTIVOICE Intercoms come standard with 4-6 channels, with each Channel LED Light signifying the respective Channel, starting (from Left to Right) with Channel #1 and ending with Channel #4 for MV-AUDIBLE and Channel #6 for MV-NEXUS and MV-PROTECTOR Intercoms. By default, each user starts on Channel #1. Each time you push the Channel button, you will switch to a new Channel and hear 1 or more tones in your headset signifying what Channel you have joined: for example, 2 tones for Channel 2; 3 tones for Channel 3; etc. Additionally, the corresponding Channel LED Light will also be lit. 8 recharging To recharge your MULTIVOICE Intercom, first connect the large end of a USB charging cable to one of the four (4) USB slots on the USB charging plug that shipped with your Intercoms (as shown to the right ). 9 Then insert the USB charging plug into a standard electrical outlet (as shown below). Next connect the small end of the USB charging cable into the mini USB port on top of the MULTIVOICE Intercom (as shown below). After all connections are made, the MULTIVOICE Intercom will begin charging, with the LED light on the mini USB connector glowing Red until the MULTIVOICE Intercom battery is fully charged, at which point the LED light will glow Blue (as shown to the right). troubleshooting A. If your headset cable is properly connected to your MULTIVOICE Intercom and the Channel LED Lights are not lit, your intercom has been inadvertently turned off. Please restart your intercom by following the steps in Sections 1, 2 and 3 on the front page. This should rectify the problem. B. If you can no longer hear anyone in your headset, first verify that your headset is properly connected to your MULTIVOICE Intercom. If not, reconnect the headset cable. This should rectify the problem. C. If your headset cable is properly connected to your MULTIVOICE Intercom but the Channel LED Lights are flickering, turn off your intercoms outlined in Note #2 in section 1. Then restart your intercom by following the steps in Sections 1, 2 and 3 on the front page. This should rectify the problem. D. If you can hear people speaking in your headset but they cannot hear you, first verify that the 2 Blue LED Lights on the front of your Intercom are lit. If not, please follow the steps in Section 3 to activate your microphone. If this does not rectify the problem, please contact MULTIVOICE at 385-236-5111. E. If (1) your microphone button is pushed and (2) your microphone is lowered and properly adjusted in front of your mouth and (3) you can hear people speaking in your headset but they cannot hear you, please verify that the Blue LED Lights on the front of your MULTIVOICE Intercom are lit. If not, please turn off your Intercom by pressing and holding the Power Button until all LED Lights turn off. Then restart your Intercom as outlined in Sections 1, 2 and 3 on the front page. This should rectify the problem. F. If you are still experiencing difficulties, please contact your authorized MULTIVOICE Dealer. Or contact MULTIVOICE at 385-236-5111.
