ADDONICS TECHNOLOGIES Model: RTII235DCSH I. Installing drive into the RAID Tower II LED Information: Step 1 Use a Philips screwdriver to turn the cover securing screw into the “OPEN” position. Step 2 Slide the aluminum cover towards the back end of the Diamond and remove it. Power LED: When the power switch is turned on, the green LED lights up. Drive 1 Activity LED: When there is drive activity, the LED blinks. Drive 2 Activity LED: When there is drive activity, the LED blinks. eSATA Access LED: When eSATA port is used to connect to a system, the LED lights up. USB Access LED: When USB port is used to connect to a system, the LED lights up. RAID Health LED: When the RAID volume fails, the LED blinks. III. Step 3 Carefully place the SATA hard drive with the label facing up into the Diamond enclosure. Push the hard drive towards the back end to secure the drive connectors onto the Diamond enclosure’s SATA connector. Step 4 Turn the Diamond enclosure over with the hard drive mounting holes facing up. Use the included flat head screws to secure the hard drive onto the bottom of the enclosure and turn in the screw to the “LOCK” position. Step 5 Slide the enclosure into the drive bay. Using the key provided, insert it to the lock mechanism and turn it to the “LOCK” position. This will secure the enclosure and provide power to the drive. Note: If you plan to monitor the status of your raid set, you need to install the Sil5744 SteelVine Manager on your system. Install the utility from the CD that came with your package. 1. 2. 3. 6. Turn computer ON. Insert Addonics Driver Disk into CDROM. The Addonics Technologies Driver Disk window pops up. Select Configuration Utilities. Sil5744 SteelVine Manager. To extract the utility select your operating system from the list. Extract the files into your system. Install SiI5744 Manager by clicking the 5700Package.msi. Follow the instructions. After software installation, restart your system off. IV. Setting RAID on the HPM 1. 2. 3. Set the Rotary switch to the RAID configuration required. Push the RAID Setting button to confirm RAID mode setting. Push the power switch of the RAID tower II to turn it on. Wait for a few seconds. Check in the 57xx SteelVine Manager if the RAID configuration is correct. 4. 5. 4. II. a. b. c. Connecting the power cable and RAID Tower II to the computer Connect the power cord provided from the wall outlet to the back of the RAID Tower II. A power switch is located on the front of the tower. Make sure the power is off on the switch (power LED light should be off) Connect the provided eSATA cable from the back of the RAID Tower to the eSATA controller card on the computer. We recommend connecting the eSATA port for best performance if this port is available on your computer. 57xx SteelVine Manager Utility Installation for RAID Tower II JBOD Configuration: When the hardware port multiplier is connected to a SATA Host controller with SiI3124 or SiI3132 chip, the 2 SATA drives configured as JBOD would be detected by the system otherwise only one drive is detected.
