RAD-ADS4 Antenna Distribution System Users’ Manual The Audix ADS-4 is a full range UHF antenna distribution system that allows up to 4 wireless systems to run off a single pair of antennas. The ADS-4 amplifies the RF signals internally in order to compensate for any loss that may result from splitting the signal. In addition, the ADS-4 has an internal switching power supply which eliminates the need for the individual DC power supplies normally needed for each receiver. Multiple ADS-4 systems can be cascaded in order to run as many as 16 wireless systems. Using the supplied BNC jumper cables, connect from the back side of the front BNC to the ANT. 1 and ANT. 2 respectively located on the rear panel of the ADS-4. Important: Be sure to connect the cables to the INPUT and not the OUTPUT. Otherwise, there will be NO signal going to your receivers. Rear Mounted: Attach the supplied antennas to the ANT. 1 and ANT. 2 inputs located on the rear panel of the ADS-4. Important: Be sure to connect the antennas to the INPUT and not the OUTPUT. Otherwise, there will be NO signal going to your receivers. Remote Mounted: Attach the coax cable from the remote placed antennas to ANT. 1 and ANT. 2 located on the rear panel of the ADS-4 respectively. Important: Be sure to connect the cables to the INPUT and not the OUTPUT. Otherwise, there will be NO signal going to your receivers. Setting Up the Distribution System: 1. Attach the supplied power cord to the ADS-4 2. Whether combining 2, 3, or 4 RAD 360 systems, the procedure to connect each of the rear BNC outputs via coax cable to each receiver is the same. 3. From the rear panel of the ADS-4, connect one of the supplied BNC coax cables from Ant.1 Output A to the Ant.1 Input of the first RAD360 receiver. 4. From the rear panel of the ADS-4, connect one of the supplied BNC coax cables from Ant.2 Output A to the Ant.2 Input of the first RAD360 receiver. 5. For each additional RAD360 receiver, duplicate the procedure in 3 and 4 for each additional wireless receiver using the next sequential letter on the rear panel of the ADS-4. Up to 4 wireless receivers can be connected to a single ADS-4. 6. From the DC Output on the back of the ADS-4 use the supplied power jumper cables to provide power to each individual receiver (up to four RAD 360’s may be powered from one ADS4). 7. Turn on the ADS-4 via front power switch. Important: The ADS-4 must be on in order to provide power to individual receivers connected to the system. To verify that the unit is on, be sure the red LED located next to the power button on the front of the ADS-4 is lit up. If LED is not lit, then: a) the power switch may not be turned on b) the power cord may not be adequately connected to either the ADS-4 or the AC outlet If any of the individual RAD360 receivers is not powering up, please check the jumper cable(s) to be certain they are secure and attached to the correct input(s). Troubleshooting: Should you experience any problems or have any concerns, please contact Audix customer service at 800-966-8261. Features: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
