Select OK to proceed. 6) Your TV MAY immediately turn black during the process. Please make sure DO NOT power off the AIOS HD Media Center and DO NOT REMOVE the pen drive. *Note: to view the update process if your TV turns black, connect the composite cable should display the process. 7) Firmware update should take about 2-3 minutes and the Media Center should reboot after the process is finished. Can I use keyboard and mouse with AIOS HD Media Center? Yes, matter of fact the AIOS HD Media Center supports both USB wire or wireless keyboard and mouse. Simply connect it to any of the USB ports and the Media Center will automatically detect them. What if I want to connect more USB storage devices than the number of USB ports allowed? The AIOS HD Media Center has total of 3 USB connections available. You can also use a USB hub (w/ external power) to support additional devices. Can I connect my camera or camcorder directly? Yes, you can connect your camera or camcorder with built in storage host controller to the Media Center. You can browse stored media files via FILE MANAGER for playback. What kinds of Flash Memory will the Media Center reads? The built in card reader will support, SD, SDHC, MMC, and MS Pro. How to do I safely remove the devices (i.e USB storage, Flash)? Press the EJECT button on your remote will bring up the device manual, select the device you wish to remove and then press OK. Can I control the media center without Remote? No, you will have to use AIOS remote or third party universal remote (once programed) to work with the media center. How come my unit is not powering on? Make sure your unit is properly plugged into the outlet, and the rear toggle switch is switched to the “I” position. How come when I press the remote and nothing happens? Make sure there is nothing obstructing the IR receiver of unit or the angle pointing from the remote is within 45 degree each side if facing directly at the media center. FAQ – Network What network connection does the AIOS support? The Media Center will support 10/100/1000 wired network or wireless 802.11/b/g/n via USB adapter. What kind of Wireless adapter will work? Pivos’s 802.11N wireless adapter is recommended. However third party wireless adapters based on Realtek RTL8191SU will also work. What kind of network cable can I use for the Gigabit Ethernet? Any CAT5/CAT5E standard network cable will work. Can I use PowerLine Adapters connect to network? Yes, besides typical Ethernet cable, PowerLine is preferred when connecting the unit to the network. They provide faster transfer rate and longer distance. Can I use it as network storage? Yes, assuming you have a HDD installed, go to setup and turn on SMB will allow other computing devices to see drive. Can I copy, move file to the AIOS over network? Yes, when SMB is on, you can copy, delete, create, and any other file management command via a network computer. FAQ – Storage What hard drive type and capacity will AIOS HD Media Center support? Any 3.5” SATAI/II HDD will work with the Media Center. Can I use the Media Center as an external drive? Yes, with installed HDD, you can use the AIOS HD Media Center as an external drive. Any Windows and Macintosh compatible computer will be able to see it as an external storage drive. You can then transfer files to or from the unit. Do I need to install any software driver if used as external drive? No software driver is needed. Your PC will automatically detect AIOS as an USB massive storage device. How do I connect the Media Center to my PC? You can connect the media center to your PC via included USB 3.0 type B to type A data cable. The data port is located in the rear of the unit. All USB 3.0 devices are backward compatible, so USB 3.0 host controller is not required on your PC. However for optimal performance, it is recommended to connect to your USB 3.0 connector on your PC. FAQ – Services and APPs Does AIOS support BitTorrent? Yes, the unit supports BT download management. You will need to install a HDD into the unit and turn on BT functions in the settings menu. How do I manage BT download? Once you turn on BT in the setting menu, you can access the management utility by typing in the IP address of the Media Center in your web browser’s address bar (i.e. http://192.1.1.10 if it’s your media center’s IP). You can then upload, manage BT seeds, adjust upload and download speed from there. How do I use FTP? Turn on FTP in the setting menu and make sure your router has proper port forwarded to the Media Center. Access the media player via any FTP client with AIOS’s IP address. What’s in the Video Podcast? Video Podcast include 5 sections, World, US, Technology, Entertainment and Sports. Each channel then include over a dozen of video feeds from CNN, NBC, Fox, PBS news, Mad Money, Disney, Discovery, ESPN, MLB Fantasy 411, and etc. What’s in the Audio Podcast? Similar to Video Podcast, Audio Podcast includes 5 sections, World, Lifestyle, Technology, Entertainment and Sports, featuring audio streams from popular sources including news sites, DJs, and internet radio stations. What’s the difference between Youtube and YoutubeXL? Youtube XL is a new application designed to use for TVs, it works the same way as the traditional youtube app, except better user interface and easier navigation. How do I navigate through youtube XL? Use the navigation key to move and press OK to select. RETURN to quit the app. How to do I play videos from youtubeXL in full screen mode? Press ZOOM on your remote to bring the video to full screen mode, press again to go back. What’s Shoutcast? Shoutcast is an internet radio site which stream over tens and thousands of active radio stations. You can search or list by genre. Press the arrow key to navigate and OK key to select. How do I use Yahoo Weather? Upon entering the app, select Add favorite and then regions. You can browse for cities by alphabetical order or search with zip code (US only). Once display, Press DISPLAY button to save to favorite. You can also switch display metrics by pressing OK. How do I use Picasa? Here you have two options. Search entire Picasa via keywords or enter your own login information and view your private albums. Select an image will switch to full screen mode. Press OPTION to bring up viewing options, here you can adjust Slide Timing, Transition, Repeat Options, Shuttle, Background Music and Video Settings. Command: Use the arrow key to navigate, OK to select, OPTIONS to bring up viewing menus, and RETURN to go back. How do I use Flickr? Here you can view images by explore keywords and tags or via keywords search. Command: Use the arrow key to navigate, OK to select, OPTIONS to bring up viewing menus, and RETURN to go back. FAQ – Playback Does AIOS HD Media Center support DTS or Dolby? Yes, AIOS HD Media Center supports Dolby 5.1/7.1, TrueHD and DTS. The Media Center requires HDMI connection to an external audio receiver with output set to RAW in setting. How come I can’t hear any sound from my TV? Make sure your audio output setting is set to corresponding to the playback file. For example, use HDMI/ SPDIF RAW if you want the receiver to handle all external decoding, or HDMI/ SPDIF LPCM if you are not using any external decoder. How come my video scale isn’t full screen? Make sure video zoom function in the setting menu is set to OFF. How do I set video scale? Go to SETTING -> VIDEO and change video scale from letter box, 4:3, 16:9, 16:10. How do I set 1080p 24Hz? Go to SETTING->VIDEO and set 1080p 24Hz to on position. How do I preview a video? Under FILE MANAGER or VIDEOS, press OPTION to bring up view options and set to Preview. In this viewing mode your video files will be automatically played in the preview window when selected. You can turn this function off in the SETTING menu. How do I create an Audio Playlist or Photo Album? Play list will only work on local connected storage such as USB pen drive, external storage or internal storage (playlist function does not work for network sources). When browsing with FILE MANAGER press the RED button on your remote to bring up file options, select Create Playlist or Create Photo Album. Select files for the playlist and Press the GREEN button to create, once created you can play it in Music and Photos. How to repeat playback? Press REPEAT on the remote to shuffle through repeat: title, chapter, or all files in the folder contents. Tips- Browser 1. PRESS the RED button on your remote to toggle between PAGE and NAVIGATION mode. 2. PRESS OK when in NAVIGATION mode to enter the link. 3. PRESS the OPTION button to bring up URL address bar, bookmark and favorties when using REALPILOT browser. 4. PRESS RETURN button to go back to the previous page. 5. PRESS ZOOM button to toggle between zoom views of the page. 6. ON SCREEN KEYBOARD: PRESS GREEN button to toggle between language input. 7. ON SCREEN KEYBOARD: PRESS GOTO button to toggle between upper and lower case letters. 8. ON SCREEN KEYBOARD: PRESS RED button for special charactors and symbols. 9. MOUSE: RIGHT CLICK to bring up page menu. 10. MOUSE: use WHEEL UP/DOWN for fast page scroll.
