AirPhones 2.0 Installation & User Guide Windows XP & Vista Introduction This document describes the installation/un-installation process and usage guidelines of AirPhones 2.0 Server for Windows. The Server is compatible with WinXP and Windows Vista. Installation After Installing and connecting to AirPhones, quit and launch your desired application BEFORE AND AFTER using AirPhones. Download the AirPhones_win.zip file and unzip contents into a directory. Installation of AirPhones 2.0 Server for Windows is done in two phases. Phase one consists of installing Bonjour for Windows. Phase two consists of installing the server application. The entire installation is carried out by executing a single setup executable. The setup directory contains a set of subdirectories and a setup executable (setup.exe) as shown below: Double click on setup.exe. This will trigger phase-1 and phase-2 sequentially. Phase 1 – Installing Bonjour for Windows Click on Next. Accept the agreement and click on Next. Click on Next. Click on Install to complete Bonjour installation. Click on Finish to quit Bonjour installer. Phase 2 – AirPhones 2.0 Server for Windows Installation Click on Install. It may take a few minutes before the next screen comes up. Click on Next. It is recommended not to change the default installation directory unless it is absolutely required. Click on Next. Note: Directory name containing spaces should not be given. For example, “C:\My Directory\” is invalid. Instead “C:\MyDirectory\” is valid. Click on Next to start installation. On completion a message box pops up indicating successful installation. Click on OK. Click on Close to quit AirPhones 2.0 Server for Windows installer. Uninstallation Uninstallation of AirPhones 2.0 Server for Windows is done in two phases. Phase one consists of uninstalling Bonjour for Windows. Phase two consists of uninstalling the server application. Phase 1 – Uninstalling Bonjour for Windows WinXP: Go to CONTROL PANEL. Click on Add or Remove Programs. Select Bonjour. Click on Remove. Windows Vista: Go to CONTROL PANEL. Click on Programs and Features. Select Bonjour. Click on Uninstall. Phase 2 – Uninstalling AirPhones 2.0 Server for Windows Uninstall AirPhones 2.0 Server for Windows from Start->All Programs->AirPhones>UnInstall Operational Details   Make sure that the AirPhones 2.0 Server host machine is connected to a WiFi network. Run AirPhones 2.0 Server from Start menu. Following screen appears. Current server status Click this button to turn server on/off. By default the server is turned on when run. Check this option to show AirPhones 2.0 Server icon in tray. By default this option is unchecked. Check this option to run AirPhones 2.0 Server at next and subsequent startup. By default this option is unchecked. Click to reset connection history. Uncheck this option to remove AirPhones 2.0 Server icon from Quick Launch. By default this option is checked.      Make sure that AirPhones 2.0 Client host iPhone is connected to the same WiFi network as that of the server. Run Airphones 2.0 Client. A dialog box appears to confirm whether to accept the connection. Click on OK to accept connection. From next time onward, the confirmation dialog does not appear for the same client. To reset the connection history and go to the initial state click on Reset. Run any audio/video application on the AirPhones 2.0 Server host machine and enjoy listening the audio on AirPhones 2.0 Client. After turning the server off or on closing the server application (which automatically turns the server off) RESTART ALL RUNNING AUDIO/VIDEO APPLICATIONS TO RESTORE AUDIO FROM THE DEFAULT OUTPUT DEVICE. Known Issues / Troubleshooting  In Windows environment, the sound does not return to PC speakers after the iPhone device app quits, restart the audio application, Windows Media Player ir iTunes for example.  In case of an unexpected quit of the AirPhones 2.0 Server Application or the server host machine, it is recommended to restart and Airphones 2.0 Server to restore default audio settings of the host machine.
