Why will the remote open my garage door, but not close it? A. If you get 3 flashes of the opener lights and you have to press and hold the wall station button to close your door, you are having a problem with your safety photo beam circuitry. Check the safety photo beams for lights (green on the sender, red and green on the receiver). All lights should be on bright, not flickering. Check the lens on the receiver and the sender for dirt or cobwebs. Check the alignment by pointing the receiver at the sender, then going to the sender, rotate down until the red light on the receiver starts blinking, then up until the red light starts blinking, then split the difference. This should give you the best possible alignment. It is also possible that you have a wiring problem, such as a high resistance splice or a staple causing a partial short, or the safety photo beams are bad. Contact 844.256.3130 for additional assistance. 8. The remotes will not open my garage door from inside or outside the garage, but the remotes will close it and the wall station button works correctly. A. Press the button on the remote from inside the garage and observe the openers lights. If the light blinks 5 times, you may have the "Vacation Mode" switch on (located under the wall station cover). Press the Vacation Mode switch to unlocked vacation mode. The remote should work correctly. If the light still blinks 5 times after you have turned the “Vacation Mode” off you may have a partial short in the wiring to the wall station, a second, lighted push button attached to the opener, or a bad wall station. Contact 844.256.3130 for additional assistance. 9. How do I program my car’s HomeLink system to operate my Amarr garage door opener? A. The HomeLink system copies a remote that has already been learned into your Amarr garage door opener’s memory. To learn the remote to HomeLink: • Take the transmitter into your car. • Press and hold the HomeLink button in the car. • For 8 to 9 seconds press and hold the button on the remote that is currently programmed to open your door • Release only the transmitter button and immediately press and hold for another 8 to 9 seconds. Repeat four to five times continually holding the HomeLink button until HomeLink signals that it has learned the code from the remote. HomeLink needs about 30 to 35 seconds to learn the complex code in the Entrematic remotes used with the Amarr 840 and 860 garage door openers. Entrematic remotes stop transmitting after 10 seconds, so the method above is required for HomeLink perceive it is getting a continuous 30 second transmission. For more detailed instructions please visit HomeLinks website at www.homelink.com/ 10. How do I program my car’s Lear system to operate my Amarr garage door opener? A. In 2007, General Motors went to a system manufactured by the Lear Corporation for their "universal" onboard remote. Ford starting using the Lear system with 2010 model year vehicles. Unfortunately, this "universal" system is apparently not compatible with the 318 MHz frequency remotes compatible with Amarr garage door openers. It is our understanding that you can get an add-on module from Lear to make your opener(s) compatible with the Lear system. You can contact Lear at 866-572-2728 or at www.learcar2u.com. How do I increase the force setting on my Amarr opener? A. The Amarr opener computes the force required to open and close the door every cycle and automatically adjusts the force as necessary over the life of the operator to compensate for changing door conditions. Setting a different force factor may be required for doors with unusually rapid changes in the force required to open and close the door, for example a wood doors that soak up water during rain storms. The chain is vibrating on my Amarr garage door opener when the door is opening or closing. A. This is typically caused by the chain being too tight. While the door is closed loosen the “chain adjusting turnbuckle” located on the right hand side of the rail near the opener. Loosen the turnbuckle approximately ½ turn at a time until the vibration stops. Ensure the locking nuts on the turnbuckle are tight when you are finished. 14.
