Ambience 5 COMPACT SPEAKER SYSTEM The ARX Ambience 5 is a high performance 2 way speaker system that provides stunning sound from an easily manageable package with minimal visual intrusion on installation decor. It is made from a durable, yet lightweight high impact resin, and designed with reinforcing ribs and non parallel surfaces to eliminate cabinet resonance and avoid early reflection smearing. Low frequencies are handled by a foam rolled surround 8” (200mm) bass driver, and High frequencies by a soft dome 1” (25mm) HF driver. Both drivers are screwed and sealed for rigid mounting to the front baffle, which is curved for better dispersion. The bass driver has a vented pole piece for optimum power handling and cooling. Frequency management is provided by a 2nd Order 12 dB per octave crossover, internally mounted on a fibreglass printed circuit board. Internal damping to reduce standing waves is provided by Fiberfil filling, and the cabinet is vented for optimum bass performance. Connectors are push terminal as standard, which allows for completely flush mounting against walls, and a moulded-in carry- • Installations • AV • Multimedia ing handle makes transportation a breeze. Ordering Options AMB5–8 8 ohm, standard terminals Its light weight means that the Ambience 5 can easily be mounted out of the way of sightlines. A mounting plate included with each Ambience 5 lets you install it either tweeter up ot tweeter down depending upon the application. The mounting bracket bolts on to the cabinet via 2 sets of threaded holes rear face. Drive options include 100V or 70V line transformers for constant voltage installations. AMB5-8X 8 ohm, XLR terminals AMB5-8S AMB5–70 8 ohm, Speakon terminals 70v line transformer And, because we know what conditions professional speakers have to endure, we’ve protected the front of the cabinet with a sturdy steel mesh grille, not fragile cloth. For installers, the matte finish of the cabinet means that its neutral dark colour (or white - see options at right) will blend neatly in with existing decor, and can also be easily painted for applications that require complete colour coordination. Summing it all up, the ARX Ambience 5 is a speaker system of breathtaking realism, suitable for the most demanding applications. Care must be taken to ensure that the surface to which they are to be mounted is capable of supporting the weight of the Ambience 5. In a brick/concrete wall, make sure that suitable anchor bolts are used. In a plasterboard/drywall installation, it is important to ensure the mounting fasteners are screwed through the plasterboard surface to the supporting stud or beam underneath. We recommend using the ARX +15 Kg mounting bracket (Bracket 2) or a similar model from a 3rd party supplier, e.g. Omnimount or similar. Please note that non-ARX brackets may require extra installation time and preparation due to their differing non-standard mounting holes. PUSH IN AND THEN DOWN B AMBIENCE 5 MOUNTING STEP 1: Attach the mounting plate P to the speaker box using machine screws and shakeproof washers STEP 2: Attach the mounting bracket part wall using 2 suitable fasteners A to the A C STEP 3: STEP 5: Push the 4 circular connectors on bracket part B into the corresponding holes in bracket part A, and push down STEP 4: Adjust the angle as required and then tighten the 3 recessed hex head adjustment bolts C with an allen key STANDARD SPEAKON AMBIENCE 5 REAR PANEL LABEL Our policy is one of continuous improvement, and therefore designs may change without notice. However, unless otherwise stated, specifications will always equal or exceed those previously given. L INTERNAL VIEW If required for security a self tapping screw can be screwed vertically into ledge L to lock both parts together B P EXTERNAL VIEW WITH MOUNTING PLATE P ATTACHED XLR STEPPED TRANSFORMER The Standard Input is used for fixed installations, with push terminal bare wire connections. Impedance will be the standard 8 ohms, unless the cabinet is set up as a Constant Voltage transformer coupled system. The Neutrik Speakon and the 3 pin Male XLR inputs are mainly used when the system will have to be moved and reconfigured frequently. The Stepped Transformer Input option has a 6 position switch ranging from OFF to MAX in 20% steps, to allow level changing to suit the environment. Constant Voltage distributed systems are either 100v or 70v line, indicated by a coloured circle next to the level switching control. Specifications available on CD ROM.
