AmerHis gateway features Internet/Intranet access: Interface to Internet/Intranet terrestrial networks through fast Ethernet (up to 100 Mbps) or serial interface (maximum 8 Mbps). Dynamic and static NAT. Dynamic multicast forwarding: On-demand dynamic multicast forwarding towards the satellite network, using multicast routing (PIM-SM) and IGMP protocols. Support of GRE tunnel for connection to a multicastenabled terrestrial network. SLA enforcement: SLA profile definitions, based on minimum guaranteed/maximum allowed bandwidth. DSCP or TCP/UDP port based classification into real-time and besteffort flows. Per subscriber (i.e. RCST terminal) SLA enforcement. ISDN videoconference: Video conference service over the satellite network based on H.323. Incoming and outgoing ISDN video calls (PRI interface), using H.320 standard. Simultaneous calls supported: 15 video/data calls @ 128 Kbps, 5 video/data calls @ 384 Kbps, 2 video/data calls @ 768 Kbps, 1 video/data calls @ 1.5MB. Accounting file generation. Supported voice codecs: Voice: G.711, G.722, G.723.1, G.728, G.722.1. Supported video codecs: H.261, H.263, H.263+, H.263++.

ISDN voice service: VoIP service over the satellite network based on H.323 and SIP (G.711, G.729 and G.723 codecs). Incoming and outgoing ISDN voice calls (up to 2 PRI interfaces). Accounting file generation (CDR files). Up to 2 ISDN PRI interfaces with RJ45 standard connector that allow 60 simultaneous ISDN incoming/outgoing calls. H.323 and SIP VoIP and videoconference communication among AmerHis subscribers thanks to H.323 Gatekeeper and SIP Proxy. These elements also performs endpoint IP address-E.164 alias translation, H.323/SIP VoIP/VC call routing, resource access control and CDR files generation services. Best-effort Internet/Intranet access: Support of Internet and Intranet access on a best-effort basis to terrestrial networks through Fast Ethernet or serial interface. Dynamic and static NAT. Gateway station management license: A centralized and compact management tool provides the GW operator with full control: Subscriber management tool, automatic backup configurability, full GW restoration capability, accounting information generation, real time station monitoring, GW configuration tool. Remotely management and monitorization of the AmerHis GW supported.
Connections enhancement (up to 250 for 4 and 2 Mbps, 500 for 8 Mbps): Capacity to establish up to 250 simultaneous AmerHis C2P satellite connections (either of high or low priority type) for 4 and 2 Mbps gateways. Up to 500 connections for 8 Mbps gateways. Each RCST user terminal may require at least 2 C2P connections. Up to total aggregated bandwidth of 4 and 8 Mbps: Support of up to 4 and 8 Mbps aggregated bi-directional bandwidth. Maximum of 4 Mbps per subscriber. Multicast performance enhancement: Satellite adaptation of IGMP protocol to decrease dynamic multicast signalling. Indicated for multicast groups with a potentially large number of members. Session data accounting: Daily generation of session data record files with per subscriber information on protocol and bandwidth usage. External ITSP support: H.323/SIP interface for termination of voice and video calls at ISDN gateways located at external Internet Telephony Service Providers premises.

AMERHIS GATEWAY FAMILY AmerHis: new era in satellite communication AmerHis is based on a “switch-board in space” carried by Hispasat’s Amazonas satellite and is the first operational regenerative multibeam satellite switching system in the world.
AmerHis gateway product portfolio This advanced communications system, based around a DVB on-board processor, offers broadband interconnectivity to users anywhere within four geographical regions served by the satellite, namely: Europe, Brazil, and North and South America.
The AmerHis system provides fully compatible interfaces with the DVB by satellite (DVB-S) and DVB return channel satellite (DVB-RCS) open standards.
