Amigo with Advanced Bionics Auria You will need: • •
An Amigo receiver An iConnect earhook
The iConnect earhook requires a size 10 battery which fits under the flap.
What to do: For use with FM, the Auria requires a 50:50 mixing ratio. Contact you implant centre to establish which program to use. 1) 2) 3)
To remove the normal earhook, turn it in either direction a little more that 90° and it will detach itself. Line up the iConnect earhook in the correct position and then push it into place. When it is in the correct place, you will hear a very small click. Line up the pins on the receiver with the socket on the earhook and push the receiver into place. If the receiver does not line up neatly with the earhook and line of the processor you may need to alter the orientation of the pins. You do this by using your fingernails to slightly raise the platform and then turn the pins until they are in the correct

position. For a BTE processor the switch/LED needs to be facing either to the front or the back when it is being worn. Once the receiver is in place, switch on the transmitter. Switch the receiver to the ○○ position. Turn on the processor. Synchronize the transmitter with the receiver. To do this, turn the transmitter and receiver on. Make sure the receiver is powered. Ensure that the receiver is 20-40cm away from the transmitter. Press the sync button in the centre of the transmitter. The LED will flash and then come on continuously when the correct channel is found. The red light should now appear on the receiver showing that it is working.
Troubleshooting If the red light on the receiver does not come on: - Make sure that the battery in the iConnect earhook is good. - Check the battery in the transmitter. - Make sure that the receiver and transmitter are synchronized. Try switching the processor on and off by removing and then replacing the PowerCel battery pack. If the red light still does not come on: Test the receiver by using an Oticon listening testing set or the Connevans accessory tester. Alternatively, if you have a hearing aid and stetoclips available, you could connect the receiver to the audio shoe on the hearing aid and listen to it using the stetoclips. If the LED now comes on, this indicates that there is problem either with the iConnect earhook or the processor itself. In this case, you need to contact the CI centre. If the red light still does not come on: - Check the battery in the transmitter.
- Try to synchronize it one more time. If you have no success, there is a problem in the FM system and you need to return the receiver and transmitter to your supplier for checking and repair. If you have two receivers or two transmitters, you may be able to deduce which of the two devices is faulty by a process of elimination – a time consuming process! Interference If the child complains of interference, walk round the room in order to locate the source of this interference. Check if either finding a different place in the room is beneficial or whether choosing a different channel will solve the problem.
