Furthermore, the CIX/PLR Protocol Master's EDS file provides all of the needed tags, simplifying the integration process to just a few mouse click– no need to write message instructions or map I/O data. Simply install the EDS file and, using RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000, add the appropriate module.
The Communication Interface I/O EXtender (CIX) System offers a cost-effective, industrial grade wireless protocol to I/O communication solution. Unlike typical wireless I/O options that have inputs and outputs on both sides of the RF link, the CIX Protocol to I/O system provides a direct connection to Remote I/O locations via the PLC/ PAC’s communication protocol. This eliminates cost and complexity sometimes seen when using other I/O modules vs those with the latest version providing compatibility with EtherNet/IP UDP or “Produce/Consume”. Unlike other “Wireless I/O” devices where the EtherNet/IP UDP protocol can struggle to maintain its connection, DATA-LINC’s unique and proprietary “Wireless Protocol to I/O” technique ensures that the typical issues normally associated with “wireless Produce/Consume” simply do not exist. The CIX6430 I/O Remotes offer 8 discrete inputs and outputs along with 4 analog inputs and outputs. The outputs, both discrete and analog, can be configured to default to a user defined state if a communications failure occurs with the Master. The discrete and analog input registers within the CIX6435 Protocol Master have status bits that can be monitored by the PLC/PAC providing a communications “watchdog”.
