This IRD is used as a data receiver for the Media Port service and the video output is not used. The connections for Media Port are described in the documentation supplied with the server. This manual serves as a reference to the receiver configuration only. The AP-2981 IRD will be shipped with some of the parameters already set for reception of APTN Services. In most cases, connecting the IRD and switching it on will result in good quality reception. Please note that individual antenna systems may vary, however; so there may be several items within the IRD menus that will need to be changed. This is explained in detail in the following pages. Immediately upon receiving the AP-2981 unit, we ask that you install the unit into your system. For the latest information about satellite frequencies please visit: www.aptn.com/satellitenetwork Version 2.1 4 AP-2981 Guide AP-2981 AP Part Number P1193085 AP-2981 Front Panel Controls and LEDS Status LEDs Up Left LCD Display Down Right Arrow Keys Front Panel Display, Controls, and Pushbuttons The front panel allows control using a four-way touch pad, an [ENTER] key, an [ESC] key, and two programmable [F1] / [F2] keys.
