Airborne 3ATI Electronic Clock APE 5100-1
Product Features The Cobham APE 5100-1 Airborne Electronic Clock meets the highest demands offering all expected functionalities. It is an integral part of your avionics installation giving you the accuracy delivered by its GPS synchronisation and security to your flight in degraded mode through its ARINC 429 output. This electronic clock of 3ATI size, with wide-viewing angle and day/night automatic dimmable backlight, provides you with an excellent reading comfort and an intuitive interface.
Technical Specifications Normal bus: 18 VDC to 31 VDC : < 0.100 A @ 28 VDC Hot battery bus: 16 VDC to 40 VDC / <0.03 A @ 28 VDC Integral lighting: 5 VAC 400 Hz < 20 mA
In degraded flight mode when GPS is not available, the APE 5100-1 clock is designed to supply accurate time reference for use by the avionics system. The APE 5100-1 has a quartz driven internal time base and the operation is controlled by microcontroller. High-contrast, transflective LCD’s white segments on black background are used to display the following functions: 6-digit display for Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) reading, 4-digit display for Elapsed Time (ET) reading, 4-digit display for Chronometer (CHR) function reading.
ARINC 429 output (LS): UTC, Date and identifier able to drive 20 loads
Controls are being performed using the following commands:
ARINC 429 input (LS or HS) : clock synchronization on GPS signal
3-position selector for GPS, INT (LT Local Time) and SET functions, 3-position selector for RUN, STP and RST functions of the ET,
Discrete: Chronometer remote control Dimensions/Weight (approx.): without connector
Turn and push button for updating of data (DATA/SET),
3.26” H x 3.00” D x 3.26” W (83 mm H x 76 mm D x 83 mm W)
2 push buttons for control of the chronometer (CHR, RST).
Panel Cut-Out: According to ARINC 408A
A chronometer remote control is available.
Weight: 1.21 lbs. (550 g)
An optional NVG compatibility is available for military applications and public service operators. The clock is referred to as the APE 5900 version.
