Aplicom L-series is a Java programmable telemetry and vehicle tracking device. The Aplicom L-series is designed for wireless GPRS / GSM telemetry and vehicle tracking systems. The clever design makes it suitable for various different applications without compromising the unit cost or size. The unit is programmable with Java and it supports the IMP 1.0 profile of the Java mobile edition J2ME. It is small in size and packed in robust aluminium housing. The L-series is available in two versions, one is optimised for vehicle use and the other one is intended for stationary installations. Both versions can be used in two different system modes. L 4002 is optimised for fixed installation to be used as an intelligent GSM and GPRS modem unit, either as an AT modem or as a client with Aplicom M2M System Protocol. This version is delivered with installation kit for DIN rail mounting and with screw mounted cable connectors. The L-series has two system modes. Selection between the modes is made with an externally accessible switch. The System mode 1 utilises the Java virtual machine and enables implementation of various applications with local intelligence. The System mode 2 turns the unit into a combined GPRS/GSM AT modem with an optional integrated GPS receiver. The L 4001 is available with optional L-Track vehicle tracking and alarm application software.
