L O U D S P E A K E R APOGEE SOUND SY S T E M S BY S Y S T E M S Artist Systems are designed and built in California by Apogee Sound Inc., a leading speaker manufacturer whose products are specified and used for concerts and major shows around the world. Apogee's success is due, in part, to its ability to produce exceptionally high power, high fidelity sound from very compact cabinets. The same cutting-edge technology that is the hallmark of these Apogee touring rigs has been crafted into Artist Systems to create no-compromise, high-end tools engineered for the discriminating professional perfromer. For years, performers have used sound systems assembled from individual components, mounted into whatever cabinets were available—usually thinking the bigger the better. Outboard electronics were then added in an attempt to sort out resultant problems. But Artist Systems loudspeakers are designed as totally integrated systems that deliver more output, higher fidelity and lower distortion than many speakers that are twice their size and weight. The key element of every Artist System is an electronic processor coupled to the amplifier and speaker by means of a loop-through configuration called PAR (Positive Amplifier Return). Because the processor is designed and tested under performance conditions tailored for Artist speakers, it "knows" the correct EQ and output capabilities of the cabinets. The processor optimizes and extends the frequency response of the signal before amplification and then monitors the amplifier’s output to protect the drivers. As a result, Artist Systems deliver more performance than is possible using conventional cabinets connected to outboard equalizers and limiters. This "system" approach minimizes setup time and offers reliable performance with superb fidelity night after night. Artist Systems use four-conductor cables for easy connection between the processor and loudspeakers. Models 3200/3600 and 4200/4600 use the first two connector pins while the Model 5000 subwoofer uses the remaining two pins. The same cable can therefore be used to quickly interconnect loudspeakers and subwoofers to the processor or to gang multiple speakers with no phase problems. 8 9 2 1 3 4 5 6 7 The Artist Series (1) Artist Systems 8000: Concert System (2) Artist 8000 with Protective Trim (3) Artist Systems 4200: Mobile Speaker (4) Artist Systems 3200: Speaker (5) Artist Systems 5000: Subwoofer (6) Artist Systems 3600: Stage Monitor (7) Artist Systems 4600: Stage Monitor (8) & (9) Artist Systems Processors Ruggedly constructed from multi-ply, cross-laminated Baltic birch, each roadworthy Artists Systems cabinet is covered with a tough polyurethane enamel coating.
