Wiring of Surf Beam 2 Auto Acquire systems Cabling 1278K 1.2m Antenna and ACU 1. Connect power cable from the base of the antenna to the "DC Out" port on that back of the 1Ru Assembly 2. Connect the Front Panel Control cable to the "Front Switch" port on the back of the 1Ru assembly 3. Connect RJ45 cable from the base of the antenna to any of the Ethernet ports on that back of the 1Ru assembly 4. Connect RG6 from the Tx port at the base of the antenna to the SurfBeam 2 modem IFL connection (NOTE: This connection is just a pass thru) 5. Connect RG6 from the TRIA to the internal connection at the base of the antenna (NOTE: This connection is just a pass thru) AvL 1Ru Assembly 1. Connect RJ45 from any of Ethernet port on the back of the 1Ru assembly to any LAN port of the router being used 2. Connect power cable on the back of the 1RU assembly to an external power source. Exede Auto Acquire Modem 1. Connect RJ45 from the Ethernet port on the modem to the WAN port of the router being used 2. Connect modem power supply to a provided power source. 1182600 Rev 001 (13 December, 2013) 3 Exede Enterpise 1.2m Auto Acquire Antenna Configuring the AAQRemote Application and AvL ACU for SurfBeam2 Auto Acquire System Once you have installed the AAQRemote Client Software, connect your computer using a RJ45 cable to the LAN side of the router. Power on the AvL antenna system using the power switch on the front of the AvL 1Ru assembly. Open the AAQRemote software application and navigate to ”File” – “Settings”, to open the AAQRemote Settings window, and check the Remote IP Address. (The Remote IP Address should be 192.168.1.2) Note: The AAQRemote will need the proper IP address for the ACU to establish communication between the AAQRemote and the ACU. The AAQRemote. Once the AAQRemote has the proper Remote IP Address, communication between the ACU and the AAQRemote should be established. The Status window in the in the AAQ Remote should populate with data from the antenna. (example: latitude and longitude) Note: If the Status window is blank the Remote and the ACU are not communicating. In the AAQ Remote application verify you are selecting the correct satellite. Target Selection Target Profile : SB2 (SurfBeam 2) Satellite: Viasat 1 (115.10 W. Horizontal. 1182600 Rev 001 (13 December, 2013) 4 Exede Enterpise 1.2m Auto Acquire Antenna Exede Enterpise 1.2m Auto Acquire Antenna Open the Device Window to ensure that the AvL ACU is communicating with the SurfBeam 2 Auto Acquire modem. The information in the Device Window will change depending on the “State” the Antenna and modem are in such as Idle, Coarse Searching, or Peaking on the satellite. To Open the Device Window, open the AAQ Remote Application. In the menu bar click “View”- “Device Window”. The Device Window will open as a separate window to the AAQ Remote Application. In Device Window, insure that Device in Use: SurfBeam2 Note: If you do not see SurfBeam2 the AvL ACU is not communication with the ViaSat Auto Acquire modem. Note: If no values are shown in the Device Window, the AvL ACU is not communicating with the ViaSat Auto Acquire modem. The Antenna is now ready to Point, and Acquire the satellite by pressing “Acquire” on the AAQRemote application or using the Acquire button on the 1Ru Assembly. Using coaxial cable of lesser quality then what ViaSat, Inc. recommends may degrade performance, resulting in loss of communication and possible damage to TRIA and Modem. This document describes ViaSat, Inc. Recommended RG-6/U coaxial cable specification. Coaxial Cable used with SB2 Enterprise Terminals, must meet or exceed the following cable specification. Cable Description: RG-6/U Type, 18 AWG, 2.4GHz, Solid .040" bare copper conductor. Conductor type: 18 AWG, Solid, Bare Copper, 0.40 Inch Diameter.
