Burgheim, 12.11.2013 – walimex pro extends its Aptaris CageSystem. The system manufactured in cooperation with the German manufacturer SIX prepares cameras for the attachment of manifold accessories and thus enables professional filming results. walimex pro now presents a height adjustable universal version matching most DSLR cameras at a recommended retail price of 379 Euro, as well as tailor made versions for the camera models Blackmagic Pocket, Olympus OM-D E-M5 and GoPro Hero 2 and 3, starting from a recommended retail price of 129 Euro. Innovative accessories completes the system to gain even more flexibility in use. Due to its modular design, the Aptaris Cage can, at any time, be extended to a perfect shoulder rig.
walimex pro presented its “Made in Germany” Aptaris Cage-System already at the end of August: An innovation that prepares cameras for the attachment of manifold video accessories and thus enables professional film shoots. After the exactly matching models for Sony NEX and Nikon 1 cameras, walimex pro now extends its CageSystem by a height adjustable universal version for DSLR cameras, as well as exactly matching models for Blackmagic Pocket, Olympus
OM-D E-M5 and GoPro Hero 2 and 3. The modular design enables the extension to a perfect rig.
Aptaris offers stability when filming and even enables newcomers jitter-free camera guidance. The handle can even be fastened to any side, so that near ground level filming is also possible. With Aptaris Universal XL walimex pro offers the highest level of flexibility. A major Plus: The cage is adjustable in height and is therefore suitable for a vast number of cameras, among others the popular models Panasonic GH 3 and Canon 5D Mark III. All other cameras with flash shoe mount and tripod thread on a common axis are also compatible with Aptaris Universal XL. The flexible Cage-System comes with numerous ¼ inch threads on all sides, which enables the attachment of manifold accessories, like LED-light for optimal illumination, or a microphone. The recommended retail price is 379 Euro.
The models for the new compact Cinema Camera Blackmagic Pocket and the Olympus OM-D E-M5 convince with absolute fitting accuracy. Fastening via a ¼ inch thread, whereby access to the control elements remains unobstructed. Both models are available on the market for a recommended retail price of 329 € each.
With the tailor made model for the GoPro Hero 2 and 3 cameras, walimex pro extends the functionality of the action camera and thus creates new possibilities for use. A special bonus: The camera can be removed from the GoPro housing at any time, without having to dismount the Cage-System for this purpose. The recommended retail price is 129 €.
A special highlight of the Aptaris Cage-System is the possibility to extend the cage to a perfect rig with just three modules. The 15mmLWS-Industrial Standard rod module serves the purpose of taking up accessories like Follow Focus and Matte box and is compatible with
any of the cages. Furthermore, it is the basis for the handle and shoulder module, which are both fastened rods with a length of 250 mm. In combination, these three modules form a compact, very light and loadable shoulder rig. For transportation, the Aptaris system can be folded up to save place. The rod module is available for a recommended retail price of 199 €, the handle module for a recommended retail price of 160 € and the shoulder module for a recommended retail price of 109 €.
