UPON COMPLETION OF INSTALLATION ENSURE THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE LEFT WITH THE USER/MAINTAINER OF THE PRODUCT. Downflow 2kW DF20LL 1. INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing the Hyco Arezzo downflow heater.The Arezzo heater is a thermostatically controlled wall mounted fan heater; it offers fan only operation as well as 1 & 2kW heat settings. It is the ideal solution for heating small rooms such as bathrooms and en suites. 2 Arezzo - DF20LL 9/10/14 14:13 Page 3 2. IMPORTANT SAFETY POINTS THE APPLIANCE MUST ONLY BE CONNECTED TO A SINGLE PHASE SUPPLY. THE PRODUCT SHOULD ONLY BE CONNECTED TO A SUPPLY THAT MEETS THE SPECIFICATIONS DETAILED ON THE RATING LABEL. ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST EDITION OF THE IEE WIRING REGULATIONS. THE APPLIANCE IS NOT INTENDED FOR USE BY PERSONS (INCLUDING CHILDREN) WITH REDUCED PHYSICAL, SENSORY OR MENTAL CAPABILITIES, OR LACK OF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE, UNLESS THEY HAVE BEEN GIVEN SUPERVISION OR INSTRUCTION CONCERNING THE SAFE USE OF THE APPLIANCE BY A PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR SAFETY. DO NOT USE THE HEATER IF THE POWER CORD SHOWS ANY SIGN OF DAMAGE. CHILDREN SHOULD BE SUPERVISED TO ENSURE THEY DO NOT PLAY WITH THE APPLIANCE. NOT SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE. WARNING: IN ORDER TO AVOID OVERHEATING, DO NOT COVER THE HEATER. THE SURFACE OF THIS APPLIANCE CAN BECOME HOT; NEVER LEAVE VERY YOUNG CHILDREN OR VERY VULNERABLE PEOPLE UNSUPERVISED WITH THE HEATER. CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE PEOPLE SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CLEAN OR PERFORM MAINTENANCE OF THE HEATER UNSUPERVISED. INSTALLATION THE HEATER CAN BE MOUNTED IN BATHROOMS BUT MUST ADHERE TO THE LATEST BATHROOM ZONE FOR AN IP23 RATED ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE. THE HEATER MUST NOT BE LOCATED IMMEDIATELY BELOW A SOCKET. ONLY MOUNT THE UNIT VERTICALLY WITH THE OUTLET AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HEATER (AS SHOWN) THE HEATER MUST BE MOUNTED AT LEAST 1 METER AWAY FROM ANY COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS SUCH AS FURNITURE, CURTAINS, BEDDING ETC... DO NOT INSTALL THE HEATER WHERE SOMEBODY COULD EASILY REACH IT WHILST IN THE BATH/SHOWER. This will hold the unit in place and would require removing before the heater can be taken down from the wall. SCREW 0 6 Arezzo - DF20LL 9/10/14 14:13 Page 7 4. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION THE PRODUCT SHOULD ONLY BE CONNECTED TO A SUPPLY THAT MEETS THE SPECIFICATIONS DETAILED ON THE RATING LABEL. CONNECTION TO THE FIXED WIRING OF THE PROPERTY SHOULD BE MADE BY MEANS OF A DOUBLE POLED SWITCH RATED FOR 13AMPS. DO NOT USE THE HEATER IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANY AUTOMATIC SWITCHING DEVICE SUCH AS A TIMER. AN OVERHEAT RISK EXISTS IF UNATTENDED. Electrical connections should be made as follows: Brown/Red live wire to the terminal marked “L” Blue/Black neutral wire to the terminal marked “N” 7 Arezzo - DF20LL 9/10/14 14:13 Page 8 5. OPERATION DO NOT COVER HEATER DO NOT PLACE ANY COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS SUCH AS FURNITURE, CURTAINS AND BEDDING WITHIN 1 METER OF THE HEATER. THE UNIT IS INTENDED AS A ROOM HEATER AND SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR ANY OTHER PURPOSE. The heater has 4 settings that can be selected using upper power selection knob 0 = Off • = Cooling (fan only) •• = 1kW (half power) ••• = 2kW (full power) The heater has a power indictor light to show when it is operating 1 0 2 1 . . 2 3 Turn the thermostat knob 3 fully clockwise to select the maximum setting, once the desired room temperature is achieved turn the thermostat knob anti-clockwise until a click is heard and the power indicator light goes off.The heater will now maintain this temperature until the thermostat knob is adjusted again. 8 Arezzo - DF20LL 9/10/14 14:13 Page 9 6. CLEANING & MAINTENANCE The heater should be examined for signs of physical damage at regular intervals, if any signs of damage or overheating are present on either the heater or the power cord; discontinue use of the heater immediately and contact an electrician or the Hyco technical line for further advice. To clean the product, first isolate the heater from the mains power supply and then wipe the exterior with a clean damp cloth. Allow the heater to dry before turning the mains power back on. To clear debris from the hot air outlet gently remove with a vacuum cleaner or soft brush. 9 Arezzo - DF20LL 9/10/14 14:13 Page 10 7. TROUBLE SHOOTING Symptom The heater will not turn on i.e. the power light will not illuminate. The heater is blowing cold air. 10 Probable cause and solution Room warmer than the thermostat setting. Turn up the thermostat. Mains supply issue. Check mains supply present and ensure the fuse has not blown. The unit has failed. Discontinue use and isolate the mains power supply before contacting an electrician or the Hyco technical line. The auto-reset has operateddue to over heating. Switch off the power supply to the unit and allow to cool before inspecting for heat damage and any cause of an abnormal overheat before turning the power supply back on to reset the cut-out. The thermal fuse has operated due to over heating. Discontinue use and isolate the mains power supply before contacting an electrician or the Hyco technical line. GUARANTEE AND SERVICE POLICY This product is guaranteed against faulty materials and manufacture for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Hyco will in its sole discretion replace, repair or refund any faulty unit. Defects arising from incorrect installation are excluded. Consequential costs such as labour charges or damage to fittings and surroundings are expressly excluded. 11 Arezzo - DF20LL 9/10/14 14:13 Page 12 INFORMATION FOR CORRECT DISPOSAL OF THE PRODUCT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE 2002/96/E. At the end of its working life this equipment must not be disposed of as household waste. It must be taken to a local authority waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of electrical and electronic equipment separately enables its components to be recovered and recycled to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. In order to underline the duty to dispose of this equipment separately, the product is marked with a crossed out dustbin.
