One of the interlinked alarms went to Alarm status Long intermittent signal Long intermittent signal (different from the latter) One short signal every 40 sec. off Low battery status. You should replace the alarm Two short signals every 4 h off Remote low battery status. One of the interlinked alarms should be replaced (low battery) Three short signals every 40 sec. off Fault/ smoke chamber contamination No signal flashes every 10 sec. Long intermittent signal (Alarm) during pushing the Test button flashes every 0.5 sec. Three short signals every 3 sec. during pushing the Test button flashes every 3 sec. HUSH mode (Alarm signal muting, sensitivity reduction) Test mode, function test. Smoke chamber and photo amplifier are normal. All smoke alarms interlinked and installed to the base shall go to Remote Alarm status in 10..30 sec. Test mode, function test. Smoke chamber or photo amplifier are faulty How to use the smoke alarm Wireless interlinking of smoke alarms The smoke alarm is a wireless device. To interlink a few smoke alarms the unique RF code must be generated in one of them and set to the others interlinked alarms. Follow the steps: - remove all smoke alarms from bases; - press and hold the test button for about 4 sec. on one of them (randomly chosen) and release the button when the red LED will be lit. The red LED on the smoke alarm (first one) will be lit until the interlink procedure is over. Note. This way the random RF code will be generated by the given smoke alarm within the range of 1..65535. This code will be recorded into non-volatile memory of the smoke alarm and will be actual till the next procedure. The next procedure on the smoke alarm will generate a new RF code different from the current one. - - in order to set the generated code to the other smoke alarms one by one push the Test button on each of them. The successful setting of the code to the smoke alarm will be accompanied with blinking of the red LED; exit the interlink procedure. Push the Test button on the smoke alarm where the red LED is lit (the first alarm). The red LED will extinguish. The exit will be made automatically after 2 min. or if the smoke alarm is installed to the base. How to dislink a smoke alarm If you need to dislink a smoke alarm carry out the unique RF code generation procedure for the smoke alarm as described above. How to add a smoke alarm To add a new smoke alarm to the interlinked group carry out the Wireless interlinking of smoke alarms for the new and all the other smoke alarms. Verification of interlink between smoke alarms Install all interlinked smoke alarms to bases. Press and hold on the Test button on one of them (Test mode). After the period of 10 to 30 sec. all interlinked smoke alarms will go to the Remote Alarm mode. Upon releasing the Test button, the other alarms will stay in the Remote Alarm for 5..10 sec. To use the alarm do the following: - interlink the smoke alarms - fix the base where necessary - install the detector to the base and twist it clock-wise until it clicks. You will hear the tune. To turn off the smoke alarm: - remove the detector from the base, rotating it anti-clockwise as far as it goes. Modes: Alarm: If smoke has been detected the smoke alarm gives a loud and continuous alarm signal and the red LED light will flash continuously until the smoke disappears. As soon as the smoke alarm goes to the Alarm mode it will start transmitting alarm signals to all interlinked smoke alarms. Within 20 sec. all interlinked smoke alarms will go to the Remote Alarm condition. Remote Alarm: If one of interlinked alarms has gone to the Alarm status, then within 20 sec. all other interlinked alarms will go to the Remote Alarm status. Only sound alarm indication is present in the mode (no visual indication). Sound signal is retained within 5..10 more sec. after switching off the Alarm status on the master alarm. Hush mode (Reduced Sensitivity): Press the TEST/HUSH button for no longer than 2 sec. The red LED light will now flash approx. every 10 seconds during approx. 10 min. This means the smoke alarm is functioning properly and the smoke alarm will stay for approx. 10 minutes in the HUSH mode. NB. HUSH mode can be reset with Remote alarm Test mode: Push and hold on the test button for at least 2 seconds. If the sensor works properly then the smoke alarm will issue the alarm sound signal and then the red LED will flash as long as the Test button is held on. In 10 sec. of holding the button the alarm signal will be transmitted to all the interlinked smoke alarms and after that within 20 sec. all the interlinked and installed to the base smoke alarms will go to the Remote Alarm status. If the sensor is faulty then 3 short beeps will be emitted every 3 sec. and the red LED will blink. Nuisance alarm: Push the [TEST/HUSH] to silence the alarm for approx. 10 min. (See HUSH mode) Low battery: One beep signal every 40 seconds means the battery is almost empty. This signal is transmitted to all interlinked alarms. Remote low battery: The battery of an interlinked smoke alarm is low. The sound indication is present in the mode - 2 short beeps every 4 h. After removing the detector with the low battery from the base sound indication on the other alarms will stop. Chamber fault: Three beep signals every 40 seconds mean a long term pollution of the smoke alarm as a result of high dust concentration in the smoke chamber. In this case clean your smoke alarm of dust using a vacuum cleaner. To avoid false alarming during cleaning remove the detector from the base. Function test When the smoke alarm is in the base press the Test button for at least 2-3 sec. If the device operates properly the Alarm signal shall sound and the red LED shall flash every 0.5 sec. Maintenance The maintenance has to be carried out at least once a year as DIN14676 requires and should consist of visual inspection, function test, and cleaning if necessary. The cleaning signal is 3 short beeps every 40 sec. (chamber fault mode). To clean the smoke alarm apply a soft brush or a brush of your vacuum cleaner to remove dust and spider web from side smoke entries. Besides the maintenance described here you do not have to take any other actions to maintain the device. Repairs should be carried out by the manufacturer if necessary. All smoke detectors and especially optical devices are sensitive to ingress of dust and insects that can cause false alarming. State-of-the-art ideas, materials and technological processes were used in production of ASD-10QR to minimize influence of contamination. However it's not possible to completely eliminate influence of dust and insects. To ensure durable lifetime of your smoke alarms you should make sure that the alarm is clean and there is no dust accumulation there. All insects or spider web in the immediate proximity from the device must be removed right away. In rare occasions under certain circumstances, even when timely cleaning is provided, contamination can be accumulated in the smoke chamber and cause the alarming. When it occurs the alarm should be replaced. Contaminating substances are beyond the manufacturer's control as they are unpredictable and are considered the natural deterioration.
