As your need for storage increases, Dot Hill provides an easy and affordable way to extend your AssuredSAN storage system. All Dot Hill arrays can be easily expanded by adding one or more JBOD units onto the original RAID system. This expansion method allows you to mix and match drives to gain the extra capacity at the performance level that you require.
Maximum Flexibility The 2002 Series offers two JBOD expansion models - with either 24 2.5-inch drives or twelve 3.5-inch drives. Both models are compatible with any 2002 RAID system. You can add mix and match drives within a JBOD and you can also mix 2U12 with 2U24 chassis.
Expansion A total of ninety size drives or six JBOD expansion units can be added to an AssuredSAN 2002 system.
Installation The 2122 JBOD units can be easily added using a 3Gb SAS connection cable to the main controller unit. The additional array is then managed through the primary RAIDar 2.0 GUI interface.
Compatibility The AssuredAN 2122 and 2130 JBODs are compatible with any 2002 Series AssuredSAN. They are also compatible with the 3000 or 3003 Series AssuredSAN’s, however the 3000 Series has its own JBOD models which leverage an internal 6Gb SAS midplane for higher IO.
