Welcome & Introductions Pat Danforth (Chair) welcomed everyone to the meeting. Introductions were made around the table. 1.
Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 2:00 pm Reviewed the minutes from September 20, 2016 meeting. Pat Danforth would like September 20, 2016 minutes amended to include Lagoon Road discussion. Cameras on HandyDART – Dave Guthrie Cameras on HandyDART, On a one week loop; Camera footage only gets marked / tagged if there is an event. Protocol surrounding viewing camera footage: Has to be requested and very limited number of employees who have access to viewing. Terri Beaton - Do the cameras have audio? Dave Guthrie – Yes

Report on Customer Service Reports – Dave Guthrie Terri Beaton, how long does it take for a call back or complaint to be investigated? Dave Guthrie – On average 3 days depending on the nature of the complaint or request. Susan Sowden, Of the CSRs, what percentage are compliments? Dave Guthrie – Around 11% of CSRs are compliments. For next meeting Dave will pull stats on Compliments and on all CSRs. Tiffany Rivers - When a compliment is generated it is printed off and hand delivered to the operator by their Service Delivery Manager.

Signage for Ramp Deployment – Dave Guthrie Michael Conrad – More signage is required regarding ramp deployments. Members of the public continue to try to board bus while ramp is in motion. Even with the bus having flashing lights, noise, and operator calling attention. Dave Guthrie – Additional options are being investigated. Terri Beaton - Do you walk over ramp after wheel chair is on, or do you wait until drivers has put ramp back up then enter bus? Drivers seem to have different expectations. Dave Guthrie - Will confirm standard operating procedure. New Business Explanation of the HandyDART complaint process – Jan Robertson Is there an updated Accessible Service Booklet? If so, can it be distributed to ATAC members for review? Who gets new booklet? Dave Guthrie (Dallas Perry had to step out) believes the booklet was re-printed with minor changes. Will contact Dallas Perry to confirm and will bring booklet to next meeting. If book is in print, Tiffany Rivers will get copies to Susan Sowden and Jan Robertson for their groups. Planning Transit Route - Jan Robertson Does BC Transit take into consideration locations of affordable/senior housing when planning service? Dave Guthrie - BC Transit looks at variables including condensed housing, neighborhood penetration and each municipality’s future community planning projects. Plans and forecasts are reviewed and adjusted yearly. Plans and service levels are presented annually to the VRTC for approval. Douglas Humbolt STOP ID 10010 – Lorraine Collett Bus stop post is in the mud. Wheelchairs cannot access all sides of the
schedule on the post as it does not spin. Dave Guthrie – City of Victoria committed to paving the area. Sooke Rd 52 Colwood STOP ID 10261- Lorraine Collett Rubbish bin is attached to post below schedule – Update since agenda item added – the schedule has been removed from the stop and not replaced. Dave will follow up. Update on Bus stop at Esquimalt Lagoon – Dave Guthrie James Wadsworth, Helen Lockhart had a site visit with staff from the City of Colwood. Planning is in the works including two options for the bus stop. BC Transit will keep working with Colwood. Pat Danforth asked for an Update on this for the next meeting. Colwood Park and Ride – Lorraine Collett Can BC Transit use a similar size sign as at Sooke Park and Ride? Public has been using park and ride for walking groups and other non-bus related activities. Dave Guthrie - will investigate options and report back. Bus Route 30 and 3 - Pat Danforth Both routes arrive within two minutes of each other. Confusing as to what bus is approaching for the visually impaired. Dave Guthrie – The buses are intentionally scheduled to arrive in close proximity to facilitate connections with other main routes. BC Transit Entrance – Pat Danforth The temporary ramp is not accessible; the railings do not extend the full length of the ramp. Susan Sowden, The permanent ramp has no color contrast markers on the outside of the turn on the ledge creating a tipping hazard. Dave Guthrie – The permanent ramp is under construction and will conform to standards when completed. Next Meeting Tuesday March 07, 2017 Meeting adjourned 3:54pm
