2247B AUDIO COMBINER The 2247B provides a compact means of combining audio signals for radio and telecom applications. With six 3 to 1 combiners and six 1 to 3 distribution blocks, it can interface six base stations to 3 consoles each. ( Or two consoles and a voter. ) All inputs have a (+/- 10 dB ) variable gain amplifier that can be used to normalize voice or data levels. The 2247B can be installed at transmit sites and used to combine Tx Audio from up to 3 consoles or voters. It also supports distribution of Rx Audio from base stations back to voters or consoles. It provides full duplex audio for up to 6 base stations. Precision multi-turn Gain Controls are provided on the front panel along with a Monitor Jack and monitor select switches. The select switches also light an LED that is positioned between pairs of Input gain controls to highlight the monitor selection. LEDs light green for the control to its left and red for the control to its right. LEDS are off for combiner output selection. The Monitor Jack provide a buffered output of the selected input or output amplifier to facilitate gain adjustments during installation or while in service. The 2247B is packaged in a 1U high, rack mount panel. Power options include ±12, ±24, or ±48 Volts DC, or universal AC. Dual Power Modules are provided to eliminate the possibility of the 2247B being disabled by a single component failure. Front Panel LEDs indicate the status of the power modules. A contact closure is provided across pins 25 and 50 of the Audio Input Connector on the rear panel to alarm in the event of a power or power module failure. Audio Combining is wired in a fixed 3 to 1 combining configuration optimum for mixing Tx Audio from three sources at radio sites. Audio distribution is wired in a fixed 1 to 3 configuration for Rx Audio. All audio inputs have a 600 Ohm / Hi Z switchable impedance. Combiner Capacity:

Selector A twelve position Rotary Switch selects the channel to be monitored. Toggle A three position Toggle Switch selects among Inputs 1-12, 13-24, or Output. The toggle switch facilitates quick level comparisons of inputs and Tx outputs. Alarm Relay
