Calrec To Set Up Communications Calrec® The information in this document applies to the Calrec® Alpha, Omega, and Sigma Digital Audio Mixing Systems. Cable Connections 2. Press Type and use the Com Port knob to select the remote port that you want to set up for the device. 3. Use the Device knob to select Audio Mixer. The Alpha and Sigma connect to the switcher over an RS-422 serial connection to a DB9 port on the switcher. The Omega uses an RS-232 serial connection. Note: If the cable connection between the switcher and the Omega is longer than 50 feet, an RS-232 to RS-422 converter is required at the Omega. 1 2 3 4 5 1. Press Select Device and use the Device knob to select RAP. 5. Press Com Type and use the Type knob to select the serial transmission standard for your device. • Alpha and Sigma — select RS-422. • Omega — select RS-232. 6. Press Com Settings and use the Baud and Parity knobs to select 115200 (Baud) and ODD (Parity). 7. Press Extra Options. Press HOME > Setup > Installation > Source Config > Audio. 2. Use the Input knob to select the input source that you want to assign an audio channel or group to. 3. Use the Audio X knob to select the audio channel, or group, that you want to assign to the selected source. You can assign up to two channels or groups. 4. Press HOME > Confirm. 4820DR-612 Rev.1
