Multipurpose Hall for General Use Whether it be the school assembly, two musicians, a small presentation or simply screening a DVD; an essential requirement of the audio system in a Multipurpose Hall is that the entire audience can clearly hear every word. A second requirement is simplicity of operation. The audio system must be able to be set up quickly and easily operated by the students or teachers to achieve consistent results on every occasion. A Jands design and installation specialist will guarantee the above criteria are achieved. An audio system requires the following elements: input sources, control system and loudspeaker components.

Input sources consist of microphones, CD and DVD players and other generic sources available within the teaching environment. Jands recommend a selection of Shure wired and wireless microphones in order to cover the presentation and performance requirements of the school. Speaker systems must cover the entire audience area at sufficient level and intelligibility that the whole audience can hear everything that is said. Jands recommend the EON series of 400 watt self powered loudspeaker systems manufactured by JBL. An advantage of this system that it is extremely portable and features an in-built microphone input so it can be moved anywhere in the school where a microphone and loudspeaker is required. The heart of a sound system and the most critical element is the controller. Jands recommend the dbx Zone-Pro 640M automated processor and controller as the ideal solution for simplicity of operation and quality sound. The Zone-Pro offers 4 microphone and 2 music replay inputs. It provides automatic feedback suppression and equalisation to consistently achieve a natural sounding system for every performance, plus a system limiter to automatically adjust overall volume and guard against excessive volume which is unpleasant to listeners and potentially damaging to the loudspeakers. Once the microphones and line level devices are connected a single remote volume control adjusts the level and the processor does the rest.
