No. OM-28373 REV.0 04/01 Measurement Handling Samples ● Wear protective gloves to prevent exposure to pathogenic microbes. ● Use a fresh urine sample. If the sample urine is not measured within an hour after collection, cap it tightly and keep it refrigerated. Be sure to allow it to reach to room temperature before measurement. ● Mix the sample thoroughly before measurement. Do NOT centrifuge them. ● Prepare an adequate amount of samples so that the whole pad portion of the Test Strip can be immersed. ● Do NOT add any preservative, disinfectant, or detergent to the sample. ● Keep the sample out of direct sunlight. ● If samples containing ascorbic acid are measured, the measured values of glucose and occult blood are occasionally lower than the real values. ● If drug-administered urine or visually observed hematuria are measured, correct measurement results sometimes cannot be obtained. AUTION MICRO 12 DOC. No. OM-28373 REV.0 04/01 AUTION MICRO PU-4210 OPERATING MANUAL Cautions Measurement Handling Test Strips ● Do NOT use Test Strips of other manufacturers. Use only our Test Strips,“AUTION Sticks, Uriflet” . Read the attached manuals of the Test Strips. ● Do NOT use expired Test Strips. Do NOT use expired Test Strips and/or Test Strips if the reagent pads show any signs of discoloration, deformation or deterioration. ● Prepare Test Strips just before the measurement. Take out only the necessary number of Test Strips to use and close the cap. If Test Strips are left out for a long time, they may absorb humidity or collect dust, causing incorrect measurement results. ● Do NOT touch the reagent pad of the Test Strip. Do NOT touch the reagent pad of the Test Strip, otherwise correct measurement results may not be obtained. ● Set Test Strip type. Set the Test Strip type before measurement. If different Test Strips are used, correct measurement results may not be obtained. ● Keep the desiccant. Keep the desiccant contained in the Test Strip container until all Test Strips are used. 13 AUTION MICRO AUTION MICRO PU-4210 OPERATING MANUAL Start Up DOC.
