RealDWG 2009 Benefits The RealDWG 2009 software library enables C++ and .NET developers to read and write DWG and DXF™ files created using AutoCAD® software. RealDWG 2009 provides compatibility with DWG files created using AutoCAD software, including read/write support for the AutoCAD® R14, 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 releases and the drawing enhancements now available with AutoCAD. RealDWG is also used internally by Autodesk to provide DWG support in non-AutoCAD-based applications such as Autodesk® VIZ, Revit®, and Autodesk® Inventor™ software products.
A one-year distribution license fee of US$5,000 includes access to any software updates and the right to distribute one application using RealDWG 2009 in that time frame. After that, the annual distribution license fee is $2,500. Companies also can join the Autodesk Developer Network to receive development support for RealDWG 2009 software. RealDWG 2009 software is licensed technology and does not impose a user interface. RealDWG provides the framework to support in-memory file operations and custom objects. Unlike competitive products, that contain reverse-engineered DWG formats, only RealDWG provides the native DWG libraries found in AutoCAD software.
