The AVR switch appliance update can take up to ten minutes. During this time the AVR switch appliance front panel will indicate progress via its LED’s. 2. If any of the Online, Selected, or Power LED’s are blinking the AVR switch flash update is not yet complete. 3. Power must NOT be removed from the AVR switch appliance until the update is complete. 4. After the new flash firmware is updated, the AVR switch appliance will reset. 5. To upgrade AVRIQs, execute the separate upgrades from AVWorks or from the On Screen Display of the local KVM port. 6. Any attempt to connect to a target server during this update will produce the following error message: “There was an error connecting to the remote system. Reason: There is no computer attached to this port/channel, or the compute us powered down” =============================================================================== Enhancements =============================================================================== This release of the AVR switch appliance firmware contains the following enhancements: 1. Added Sun keyboard localization support - A new text button captioned "Keyboard" has been added to the OSCAR setup screen. This button will invoke the Keyboard screen and allow the user to configure the target keyboard country code. This option, which will be stored in non-volatile memory, will allow nonU.S. Sun Type 5 and Sun USB computers to boot with the desired keyboard mapping. =============================================================================== Fixes =============================================================================== This release of the AVR switch appliance firmware contains the following fixes: 1. Resolved ballistic mouse issues that were occurring in some Linux/Unix environments. AVRIQs must be upgraded after the appliance upgrade to resolve this issue. =============================================================================== Known Issues =============================================================================== This release of the AVR switch appliance firmware contains the following known issues: 1. When PEM is tiered off of an AVR and Client A (Digital) is connected to one server on the PEM and Client B (Digital) attempts to access a different server on the same PEM an message appears. This is the correct behavior for the Pre-emption but the message content is mis-leading. Page 2 of 2
