AUX-GM3x Auxiliary input Jack Installation Guide for GM CLASS II Radios with Satellite Tuner Created August 1, 2015

Introduction: Many GM vehicles have no option to plug-in and play a portable audio device, but if your vehicle has an XM Tuner (active or inactive), the AUX-GM3x provides a 3.5mm Audio jack which can be used to connect and play all kinds of audio devices including Smartphones, MP3 Players, iPods etc. while also retaining the SiriusXM option. Keep in mind that for the AUXAUX-GM3x to work, the vehicle must have an XM tuner Module. Module . See Frequently Asked question at the end of this guide for more details.

4. Connect the 16-way plug from adapter harness (See Fig. 3) to the 16-way connector on XM Tuner.
6. Drill a ¼” hole in the dash or panel, push the aux jack threated end through the hole and secure with nut (See Fig. 5) 5

5. Carefully route the audio jack (See Fig. 4) 4 to a location on the dash or nearby panel where it will be mounted (within 4, 6 or 10 ft.) Location will vary based on vehicle and customer’s preference.

Warning! Should you decide to mount the jack, make sure the panel is no thicker than 1/8” otherwise the jack threads won’t protrude enough to engage the nut. (If necessary use a dremel or sander to thin the panel). Mounting the jack is not necessary but doing so makes for a stock appearance and easier to connect and disconnect your audio device.
