Tiernan’s Advanced Video Coding AVC4000-HD Encoder features the latest advancements in video encoding, performing to H.264/AVC specifications resulting in the most advanced feature suite available today. Equipped with Tiernan’s advanced PurePEG Technology, video pre-processing providing spatio-temporal filtering yields the highest picture quality even at lower bit stream rates. Optionally equipped with a DVB-S2 Modulator, this encoder offers the optimal solution for HD video compression and satellite bandwidth usage. Simulcast of MPEG-2 SD and AVC HD encoded video streams facilitates operation in evolving and hybrid delivery networks. Optional configurations offers a wide range of performance flexibility to deal a wide range of applications, from the low-end entry level to the most demanding high level situations.

Output Interfaces Maximum flexibility is a key component to the AVC4000-HD Encoder, with SMPTE 310 and ASI output standard. DVB-S and/or DVB-S2 modulator formats, DS3/E3 output and a 100/1000 Base-T IPTV Adapter available. This enables the AVC 4000 HD to operate in a wide range of applications
Video Two encoder channels, one processing AVC Main Profile @ Level 4.0 HD and the other processing MPEG-2 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 SD, operate independently and either or both may be delivered in the compressed output data stream. The SD channel encodes full resolution PAL or NTSC video while the HD channel is capable of 1080i and 720p formats with numerous resizing options.
Audio Capable of decoding up to eight audio channels (4 pairs) with analog and/or digital audio outputs, including HD-SDI and SD-SDI embedded audio, makes the AVC4000-HD compatible with most audio requirements.

In its basic configuration, the AVC 4000 HD supports two independently programmable auxiliary data channels, asynchronous or synchronous and IP data.

Operator Control The embedded Web Browser Interface allows for easy command and control as does the RS-232 proprietary command line M&C. Intuitive, menu-driven control front panel and A/V confidence monitors are standard features. An optional SNMP agent is available.
