Perform daily prior to printing, before any critical job, when colors appear incorrect or if you see banding (light/white lines).

2. Capping Station, Wiper and Spitting Pad (daily recommended)* Press Menu, Setup, Set 20 CR Maintenance, Enter. This will move the Print Head Carriage to the left side of the machine to allow access to the Capping Station and Wiper. Excess and dried up ink will prevent the Wiper from functioning and the Capping Station from creating an air tight seal against the print heads. Clean the Wiper and rubber Capping Station edges with a Swab** and Flush** and finish cleaning with a Lint Free Cloth**. After finishing this maintenance, fill the Pipet (eye dropper)** with Flush and fill both capping stations until you see the Flush appear. Also empty one Pipet of Flush on the Spitting Pad. After approximately one minute: Click the Down Arrow Key on the machine display to start the pump and after 4-5 seconds press the Down Arrow Key again to stop the pump. Click Enter to finish the CR Maintenance Cycle. 3. Cleaning Around the Print Heads (daily recommended)* Important Information! Be careful NOT to touch the face (nozzle area) of the Print Heads! Press Menu, Setup, Set 20 CR Maintenance, Enter. This will move the Print Head Carriage to the left side of the machine to allow access to the Print Heads. Open left maintenance door, use Swab and Flush and clean around and between both print heads until all excess and dried up ink is gone. Click Enter to finish the CR Maintenance Cycle. 4. Rock Cartridges (weekly) Gently take out and rock all cartridges at least once a week to ensure that the ink does not settle down. 5. Clean and lubricate Bearing Races (monthly)* Clean the Bearing Races at least twice a month. Wipe Races with Lint Free Cloth only. After cleaning, lube Bearing Races with a very light film of Grease**.

6. Clean Printer Dryer (monthly)* Use a Lint Free Cloth and Flush and clean the Drying Table of the printer on a bi-weekly base to remove possible residue of glue and ensure smooth transportation of the sheeting. 7. Clean Pressure Rollers and Platen (monthly)* Should be cleaned monthly or as needed by visual inspection. Use Lint Free Cloth and Mild Detergent to clean. We advise not to use Flush or Isopropyl Alcohol! Damaged or cracked rollers should be replaced (contact your local Avery Dennison Technical Representative). 8. Clean the CR Encoder (monthly) Do not use Flush or Isopropyl Alcohol and be very careful not to damage the Encoder Strip!
Should be cleaned monthly or as needed by visual inspection. Use Lint Free Cloth and Mild Detergent to clean. 9. Replace Spitting Pad (as needed)* As soon as you see the ink is no longer able to disappear though the Spitting Pad, replace this pad. While replacing the pad, fill the Pipet with Flush and empty this in the box underneath the Spitting Pad to clean the tubes.

Important information! Keep the printer ON at all times As long as there is ink in the system, keep the printer ON at all times! If you plan not to use the printer for more than 7 days, perform a Longstore (flushing out all inks) and power off the machine. Go to Menu, Setup, Set 19 Longstore, Enter to start this process. Make sure you have at least 8 full Flush cartridges available! Dedicated slots for inks It is not recommended to mix different colors in the same slots (even after a Longstore). This because, even after flushing out the lines, it is quite possible there are previous pigments in the lines which may mix with the new color ink pigments causing a possible coagulation. * Use proper protection (glasses and gloves) for these types of maintenance! ** Part of the Avery Dennison Maintenance Kit
