SOLLATEK AVS TM The Sollatek AVS provides complete protection for all electrical and electronic equipment against damage caused by voltage fluctuations. The most advanced spike/surge and voltage protector worldwide. The NEW AVS range includes the following new features: ◆ Microprocessor Control adding reliability, advanced features and more protection. ◆ User adjustable time delay. ◆ LEDs indicating over and undervoltage conditions. ◆ Reset button that can also be used as a load on/off switch. ◆ TimeSaveTM - intelligent time delay. TM The AVS principle The AVS principle input good output good input bad no output 1 For complete protection simply plug the Automatic Voltage Switchers into the mains and plug in your appliances. When the mains power supply fluctuates outside pre-set tolerances (nominally 190V and 260V) the power to your equipment is disconnected. The AVS monitors the voltage for a short period to ensure the power has stabilised before re-connecting. In 2 addition, the start-up delay provides protection against power-back surges commonly experienced after resumption of power input now good in a power cut situation. Surge and spike protection is also incorporated to ensure protection against these events which are very common. They are generated by lightning and nearby switching off and on of other equipment such as vacuum cleaners, wait 1-3 mins 3 pumps, motors, televisions, elevators etc. input now good The AVS features The AVS protects your The AVS protects from TIMESAVETM description ◆ Fridges, freezers ◆ Power cuts ◆ Air-conditioners ◆ Sags The Sollatek AVS has a built-in microprocessor which adds the advanced feature TimeSave.TM TimeSaveTM means that when the mains return to normal, the AVS checks the duration of the OFF time. If the unit has been off for more than 3 minutes then it will reconnect the mains within 30 seconds rather than the standard 3 minutes. This means the Sollatek AVS will give you more vital working time IME AVETM than any other switcher! output good 4 ◆ Protects and prolongs the useful life of electrical appliances ◆ Eliminates the need to switch off ◆ Photocopiers appliances every time the electricity fails ◆ Safeguards valuable electrical appliances at all times ◆ Fax machines ◆ Computers ◆ Monitors ◆ Very low cost protection in relation to the value of appliances ◆ Different models available including three ◆ TV and Hi Fi (under-voltage dip or brownout) ◆ Surges (swell or over-voltage) ◆ Power-back surges ◆ Video recorders impulses ◆ Most household and (spike, surge) T business goods phase units. Direct wiring adds security of installation • Power-back surges Weight 600gm Dims 235x135x55mm Frequently asked questions Does the AVS disconnect on spikes (impulses)? No. This is not required as the AVS has built-in surge and spike protection. Any incoming spikes will simply be clamped to a safe level. Is an AVS just a surge or spike protector? Absolutely NOT. The Sollatek AVS protects against much more. The low cost surge/spike protector protects against one event; IMPULSES commonly known as spikes and, though wrongly, as surges. The surge/spike plug provides zero protection against all the other voltage problems, while the Sollatek AVS does. Can I connect more than one appliance to an AVS? Yes. The AVS13 is rated at 13 Amps. If you connect a multiway adaptor or socket strip to the AVS13 then you protect ALL outlets. However, you must not exceed 13 Amps. Can a stabiliser replace an AVS? Stabilisers are effective in providing a good voltage range to work with. So, can they replace an AVS? The answer is definitely NOT. A stabiliser will attempt to correct the incoming mains if it dips or surges. Some stabilisers do this better than others. Sollatek stabilisers have probably the widest input range and, with microprocessor control they achieve correction in a clean fast way to provide a clean, accurate output. However, unlike the Sollatek SVS, with the majority of stabilisers, if the voltage fluctuates widely then the correction of the stabiliser might not be sufficient to bring the output voltage to a safe level. In these cases damage to the connected equipment may result. Therefore, to provide the best protection, you will need to disconnect the voltage from reaching your appliance and that is the function of the AVS. Furthermore, the AVS is rated at 13 Amps (over 3000WATT), weighs 500 grams and fits in the palm of a hand. A similarly rated stabiliser could weigh 10 Kg! A multiway adaptor can be plugged into the Sollatek AVS13 to provide multiple outlet protection Spikes/ surges Power-back surges SPECIFICATIONS Model AVS13 AVS13RL AVS15 Nominal Voltage 230V 230V 230V 110V 230V 110V 230V Watts 3120 720 3600 3300 7200 11000 2400 50/60 Hz 50/60 Hz 50/60 Hz Load Current (Amps) 13 3 15 30 30 100 100 Inrush Current (20ms) 70 Amps 70 Amps 110 Amps 110 Amps 110 Amps 500 Amps 500 Amps Max consumption (milli Amps) <100mA <100mA <100mA <100mA <100mA <100mA <100mA 10s - 10m plus manual 3 mins 3 mins Frequency Wait Time AVS30 AVS100 50/60 Hz 15secs-3mins 15secs-3mins 15secs-3mins 50/60 Hz Over-Voltage Disconnect 265V 265V 265V 230V - 300V plus off 132V 265V Over-Voltage Reconnect 263V 263V 263V 2V below HVD setting 128V 260V Under-Voltage Disconnect 185V 185V 185V 150V - 230V 92V 185V Under-Voltage Reconnect 190V 190V 5V above LVD setting 95V 190V Max supply 320V 320V 160V 160V 320V Spike / surge protection Joules Amps Response 190V 320V 160 480 160 6500A (8/20us) 6500A (8/20us) 6500A (8/20us) 10 nanosecs 10 nanosecs 10 nanosecs 320V 80 160 6500A (8/20us) 10 nanosecs 80 160 6500A (8/20us) 10 nanosecs Response time (over voltage) <20 millisec <20 millisec <20 millisec <20 millisec <20 millisec Response time (under voltage) 1 second 1 second 1 second adjustable 05 - 10 seconds 1 second Brown-out response time 20 millisec 20 millisec 20 millisec 20 millisec 20 millisec 500 g 500 g 500 g 600 g 600 g 40 40 Approx packed weight Dimensions packed (mm) Shipping quantity per carton H 230 x W 134 x D 54 40 40 Shipping carton dimensions Socket type 40 H 590 x W 540 x D 250 UK13amp UK13amp UK15amp v direct via brass screw terminal i s i t o u r w e b s i t e http://www.sollatek.com TM The Power to Protect Specifications are subject to change without prior notice.
